We just booked our first Disney Cruise for December 4, 2005. It's 628 days away to be exact. We haven't told our kids who are 5 and 7. I plan on waiting until the time is closer. But my question is how do you keep up your excitement for another 628 days. I don't know how I am ever going to wait that long. Our only bonus is we are going to DL in 100 days that will help with the next 3 or 4 months. Would love any advice.

I have one word for you - DISBOARDS

I am waiting 311 days til I take my nieces and nephews on a Disney Cruise and I can't wait!

I go through stages. The first month-60 days off the ship, I check in a lot; going through withdrawal. Then I go into a self-imposed ban/funk where I don't check in often as it seems the cruise is SO far away. Then I come back for a few weeks (current state) and catch up on the latest.

I'll drift in/out like this until about 120 days out. That's when it gets EXCITING. By day 20 or so, I'm a posting fool.

We have yet to go on our first cruise - it is May 13 th......I am already planning on booking a 7 day for 12/05 and am posting about it~ I guess I am a freak! The excitement has set in and I don't know what to do besides visit these boards and maybe the parks!!

I booked our first ever cruise for in Feb. of last year for this June. At the beginning I was reading these board like crazy. Then for a few months into the summer and fall I skipped them for a while because I was driving myself crazy with the wait. I just started back regularly at the turn of the year, and now I am hooked-twice a day check-in usually. I also got involved in some of the other forums here and it kept my mind on other things for a bit (I get too obsessive at times ::yes:: )

Have fun planning. It does go by faster than you think, and you have a Disney vacation to look forward to and that will certainly break it up!

Thanks for all the input. I have found that I check the DIS board daily right now but anticipate it will slow down as summer gets closer. I have a friend that is on a Disney Cruise right now and is planning another one for October. It will be fun helping her plan hers.

Thanks again everyone.

kelskars - I feel your pain. Our first cruise isn't for another 421 days and I can't wait. We took our girls to DL last year, so they've had just a little taste of whats to come. I discovered this website about a week ago and am totally hooked. I'll know these peoople better than my DH before we ever sail :hyper: Just keep reading the posts to get ideas and suggestions and you'll be ready to go

Ok, I have NEVER said this before, but if that doesn't deserve a tag, I don't know what does! I was laughing out loud! Thanks for giving me a well-deserved smile tonight. :D

Hi, understand exactly what your going through, we are not cruising untill may 2005!!
Ever since we booked we have been hooked on to Dis boards.
As far as keeping it a surprize from your children, it will be hard but will be worth it.
We took our girls to disney last year and never told them until the morning we were flying.
I wrote a letter to both of them from all the disney character's, asking them to hurry up and jump out of bed as they had a plane to catch and that Mickey, Minnie etc were waiting to see them.
We caught it all on video and for the rest of our life's my hubbie and me will never ever forget their little face's.
We kept it hush for over a year, everyone knew family ,their teachers you name it,
Anyway the girls know we are going to florida next year, but they don't know we are going on a dis cruise, The excitement is killing me and we have another 14 months to go !!

Happy day's

How cute is that! Your kids are going to have so much fun

We take advantage of our annual passes to CA and DL. Takes our minds off the cruises for a little while. - Mike :)

I know how you feel - I booked two weeks ago for the week of Thanksgiving - I have become obsessed about how much overtime I can work to pay if off quicker - weird isn't it? I have read the passporter at least ten times. I may have to be committed before my 200 plus days go by. my kids can't wait to go they will be 9 and 11 when we board the ship.

We've got our 4th in 4 years booked for 12/04/04 and IT'S WORSE once you have sailed and wait for the next one.

We just booked our first cruise too...the Eastern 7 day the Sat. after Thanksgiving 05-right before you! Congratulations!!! We can hardly stand the wait either!!!:teeth:

and I think I'm more excited than my daughter who is so "cool" about everything, I wish I'd had her composure at her age! I used to be excited about seeing a butterfly for heaven's sake!

We booked at about 400 days and I am constantly checking the boards for new ideas and driving my family crazy. Once spring sports start hopefully I won't be so obsessed!
