Contiuning our 13 day saga of our WDW trip!

July 6 - Up by 6:30 to get ready to go to AK. I am excited about today because we are to meet up w/ Dave_from_Marietta and his family. We met them on the May 26 cruise!

Breakfast in our condo, (better and SOOOO much cheaper!) We get to AK by 8:10 and we head toward the Safari. Only about a 10 min wait. We did see most animals up and stirring about. The lions were still asleep. Good views of the hippos, giraffes, antelope. After this did the nearby "trail" and saw mole rats and the merkats standing guard. Went around to get FP for the raft ride. We stopped along the way to see a bongo/silt man street show. Went to the "tiger" trail and saw the bird show. We saw the "back side" of the TOL, and got some good views with the binocculars. The Kali raft ride was neat, but the one at Six Flags over GA is better. I called Dave at 11:30 and his family was on their way into the park. We ate the the Flame tree BBQ. It was good but my DS's didn't enjoy it much. We had a nice visit with Dave, Sherry and their son. We had a FP for "Bug" and did this. This was our 1st 3-d show and it was cute. My DS's kept "reaching" out for the things in front of them. The "physical" effects are a nice touch! From here we went over to Dinosauar. Got a FP time and it was only about 30 min. The LINE was an Hour wait! Not many using the FP here. Got an Ice cream while we waited and rode the Dino. It was very realistic and the pre-show set us up well. From here we waited on the next Tarzan Rocks show and let the kids play in the boneyard. No digging available any more, just maze area. We did see active construction going on over the wall. Tarzan was a neat show to watch. I taped it to show the folks at the nursing home I work at. After this we were beat so we headed back to the condo.

We had PS's for the Hoop DeeDoo show this evening. We drove to FW to the area they said and parked. It turns out you must WAIT for a WDW bus to take you to Pioneer Hall. This bus also stops at the RV courts. We finally arrive and are directed to wait in line. We notice most others are "checking in" with a man at the front so we go to speak to him. He checks our name and says "you have'nt payed yet, go to the cashier window first to buy your tickets". We proceed to pay our tickets and get the pic taken, but by now I'm wore out from all the confussion. We did enjoy the food. This will be the first and last time I have white wine from a mason jar! The ribs and chicken were good. We asked them to keep the peppers and onions out of the corn. The "blonde's" laugh just about grated my last nerve!! This was nice for one time, but I don't know that I will be back. I feel it is really overpriced for what you get. We left to get back on the WDW bus and stop at 10 courts before getting back to the parking lot. We head back to the Hilton and crash!

July 7 - Today DH and his cousin played golf and DS's and I slept in. I also have family in Winter Park and they agreed to keep our kids while DH and I and his cousins went to the Pepsi 400. This was a very exciting race with Dale Earnhart Jr winning. Since it occured in the evening the temp was bearable. They also had a neat fireworks tribute to Dale Earnhart Sr. They had fireworks in the shape of "3". Traffic was Murder on the way out, and we did not get back till 3:30AM!!!

July 8 - We slept in this morning! We had an appointment with HGVC and talked about adding another week to have more points to use. We had planned to make it to IOA but again the weather proved unfavorable. We had dinner at Kanpai, a local Japanese restaurant, but it turned out to be not very good. Someone later suggested Yoshi? and we may try this next trip.

More to come!:bounce:
