Our First Anniversary @Sports, Old Key West AND Pop! TR finished, new TR started!!

I'll keep my fingers crossed that you hear good news in response to your offer! :goodvibes

:cool1: I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you guys!! I hope everything works out with the house!!!

I love the wall! What a great color! I'm dying to paint part of the inside of our house! Our kitchen and dining room is a green color, I think its called boston fern. The living room and stairs etc are an off white. I'm really over the off white! I thinking of a muted tan color. We'll see!

Thanks!!! I love the color, it's a really beautiful color. Its a goldy yellowy color, but not too bright. We have a whole can left so I'll be painting more with it!

We have a house!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We signed the contract tonight, after going back and forth a few times on the offer. We are just waiting on the sellers to sign, we ended up changing a few things and hopefully they'll agree to it and we have a new house! I'm SO excited. We won't close and move in until the end of March, which seems SO far off but we have so much going on, it will fly by!! We are beyond excited, I can't wait to have space, and to paint, and have a HOME instead of this apartment! Thanks for all the well wishes everyone, I will update as things go on! Next update on its way!

Friday December 19, 2008

This was our last morning at Old Key West. I woke up pretty sad, and hating leaving that beautiful room there. We had enjoyed it so much, it was just beautiful and I was SO happy that we found such a great deal and were able to stay there. I dont know that I would have ever chosen to stay there w/out finding this deal for renting points, but I was SO glad I did, because it truly is our new favorite. Wilderness Lodge will always hold a special place in my heart but OKW is amazing.

We had packed most of our stuff the night before, but had a few last things to put in the suitcases. We got up fairly early to finish packing and got ourselves ready and the car loaded up. I was excited to still have the next two days of fun left at Disney, and I really was looking forward to staying at Pop and seeing how much DH would enjoy it, I knew he'd think it was fun.

We headed out, I took one last look around our room and bid the beautiful Old Key West goodbye. We will find a way to stay there again, sometime in the future.

We decided that since it was pretty early, our room probably wouldn't be ready, and we needed a few thing sat the store so since we were over that way we'd run over off property again to go to Goodings. It's such an easy, short little drive over there, right down from DTD! I don't remember what we needed, unfortunately I don't have notes from these last 3 days so I'm going on memory.

We finished at the grocery store, and headed back on property and found our way to Pop, which wasn't too hard. It was fun pulling in and seeing all the bright buildings. I really can't explain it, but we both just had such a better feeling here, compared to All Star Sports. It just seemed cleaner and less "cheap", which I know makes no sense. But we immediately liked it better.

We went in to check in, I waited in line for just a few minutes, while DH just kinda walked around and explored some. I didn't have to wait long at all, and thankfully our room was ready!! We were on the first floor which I was pretty happy about, in the 50s Building on the other side from the pool, all the way on the end of the hallway right at the parking lot. sweet. We were happy about that, making it MUCH easier to load/unload our stuff from the car. If we were staying for a week I might have wanted something different, but for 2 nights it was great. And it really was quiet, we didn't hear much at all!

We drove around and brought all our stuff in, and got settled. Pictures...

And you KNOW I had to decorate our window!!

We hung around for a little bit and then decided we were ready to go have some fun!! We were headed to MGM that day, but decided to go get some lunch first! We grabbed our mug and walked over to the food court. A few pictures along the way..

Everything really looked pretty good! DH decided on a bacon cheeseburger, and got the philly cheese wrap with some pasta salad. It was really good. Nice variety. We just kinda relaxed and hung out for a little bit, and then walked around in the store some. I saw a few tshirts I wanted, and they were 40% off but I wanted to wait. I took a few pictures…

011-4.jpg

DH walked back to the room to put our mug away so we wouldn't have to carry it all afternoon. He met me back and we were off to MGM!

We didn't have to wait long for a bus and soon we were there!

Some of our Photopass pictures…

I’m sure the first thing we did was run back to Toy Story Mania to see if we could get a Fastpass. I’m assuming since we didn’t get to ride it again the whole trip, that they must not have had them. It was crazy, FP’s ran out so early in the day, and the wait time was always at least an house, usually longer.

We walked back and The Little Mermaid was starting so we did that..

015-3.jpg

Great as always. Then we decided we really wanted to do the Animation Academy again since we had so much fun the first time. Its just something different, and we wanted to try another character. We figured out how to get in through the store so avoid watching the video and tour thing again, and waited about 10 minutes to get in. This time we got to draw Scrooge McDuck!! Very cool for the holidays. Our teacher was not as cool as the first girl we had, he was just kind of boring, but it was fun. Here we are…

Yay!

After that I think we went on the Great Movie Ride…

And when we came out the Block Party Bash was going on. We stood for a little bit under the hat area to watch…

One cute little story. While we were watching I noticed this group of cast members just having a great time near us. They were standing in a little circle, and were just completely dancing their hearts out and singing and having a blast. It was hilarious, they were so into it!! They were cleaning ladies, I guess is the best name, and they had just stopped together to dance and have fun. People were watching and encouraging them, it was just awesome. I love seeing cast members having such a good time like that! I tried to take a picture of them but its hard to tell…

030-4.jpg

After that we headed back towards Star Tours and The Muppets, DH’s two favorites. I hung around the gift shop while DH rode Star Tours bc I hate it. Then we went to The Muppets.

052-4.jpg

I don’t even know how many times we did that this trip! We decided to go up towards the front so we could sit down bc the preshow was just starting. I noticed this and had to take a picture. Just…because. You might can figure out why. We had just never noticed it before and it was funny..

055-4.jpg

056-4.jpg

It was great as usual, DH always sits and cracks up the whole time, which in turn cracks me up. We walked through the store again, seeing if they had the tshirt DH wanted, of course they didn’t.

By this time it was getting closer to Fantasmic time, so we decided to head up that way, bc DH was wanting to ride ToT anyway.

I like the way these pictures turned out..

057-3.jpg

058-4.jpg

He rode, I waited.

Then we headed on up to the ampitheater to sit down. It was already crazy and crowded, but we got lucky and found space for the two of us on the end of a row pretty close to the middle. Our view…

062-2.jpg

I was very excited. Fantasmic is my FAVORITE Disney show, and although DH doesn’t love it as much as I do, he does enjoy it. He does not however like sitting for so long ahead of time on the hard bleachers, just to get a good seat. But he humors me.

We had brought pb sandwiches for dinner but we decided we needed something fun too so I went up to get some water and a popcorn. Can’t see Fantasmic w/out popcorn right?

Soon enough the show started! YAY!

I have tons of pictures and video, and I apologize in advance if they are out of order!

Can you tell how much I LOVE Fantasmic?!

After the show we made our way back to see the Osbourne Lights again. This would be our last night at MGM so I knew we HAD to see them. We hung out for awhile, just taking it all in and staring at the lights, and watched them dance a few times. Pictures speak for themselves…

And another video..

What better way to get in the Christmas spirit! Oh I loved it so much, I hated to leave.

We did stop to get a PP picture, we had to wait in line, and ended up having to wait longer bc we kept getting stuck on the dancing lights, and they don’t take pictures during that. Finally we got it though…

We slowly started on our way out of the park, I stopped to take some pictures as we said goodbye to DHS for this trip..

I loved this window…

I don’t remember waiting a long time for the bus back to Pop. And MY lights in the window when we got back..

We decided, being the water loving couple that we are, to go for a swim. Who care how cold it is, right? Yeah. We went back to the room to get our swimming suits on and went out to the 50s pool and I started to get in. WAY too cold that night. I froze, so we ran back to put some WARM clothes on, and then got our mug and went to get a drink, and then came back to hang out some. DH was in a drinking mood somewhat so we took some drinks and went and sat at one of the tables near the pool for awhile. We just had so much fun. I remember laughing and just hanging out and enjoying ourselves. Some night time pics I took…

This window was near the pool area and I just thought it was cool…

After a little while, this fellow comes hopping down along the side of the concrete….

131-1.jpg

129-1.jpg

He sat right there, next to us for the longest time. He wasn’t scared at all. And I’m a bit embarrassed to admit that I took WAY too many pictures of him. Get a few drinks in me and I was highly entertained.

After awhile we were getting tired, so we dragged ourselves back to the room and went to bed, to get some rest before our LAST Disney day.

Congrats with the new house! The next month and a half will definitely fly by...there will be so much to do to keep you guys busy in that time.

I love your drawings from your animation studio session. I think that is the first time I saw Scrooge McDuck being drawn.

Also...love the Fantasmic pics and video. We do that show about once every 8-10 trips. I know...that's pretty bad of us. I just hate sitting there so far ahead of time like your DH. LOL! Nice to see it again through you though and apparently nothing has changed with it. :thumbsup2

So how long are you going to keep us in suspense? What's the new resort this next trip? I'm so glad you have another trip coming up so that I can hear all about that one too! We're not going again until Fall...so I need to majorly live through you. ;)

Yay a new house!!! Congrats, that must be a wonderful feeling!
I like how your Scrooge came out. I am the worst when it comes to drawing but I still think the drawing lesson at DHS is fun. And I am with you on Star Tours, I would not care if I never went on that thing again!

Hey girl!!!!! Let me just start by saying CONGRATULATIONS on the house! I'm so excited for you. :woohoo:

Love your Scrooge McDuck picture! Awesome job!!! Love the Osborne lights too. I was so bummed to miss them by days.

Can't wait to hear about your last day. Ohhh and you are so close to your next trip. Have a GREAT time!

oh I know, the time is going to fly. I hope anyway!

I was so excited to draw Scrooge, he said they only really do it around the hoildays, so that was awesome. I was proud of DH for doing a MUCH better job on this drawing.

A few more days of suspense. We're leaving a week from today, after work and driving half way. And we're not staying anywhere new. We're going with my parents, so that might be a big clue to where!

Thanks for reading!

Thank you!!! We're so excited.

I'm not usually good at drawing either, but it is really fun. And I'm so glad to hear someone else hates Star Tours. People think I'm a wimp but I dont care. I hate it.

I hate that you missed the lights, they were so amazing. But we completely missed them on our honeymoon last year too, so you will always have another chance hopefully!!!

I can't believe how close our trip is. We've had so much going on I honestly haven't really thought alot about it. We do have a few plans though and I'll be sharing them soon!!

Thanks for reading everyone!!!!!!!!!!!!

Happy Valentine's Day!!!! Hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend and enjoys time with those you love!!!

Was something on your mind while writing this bit? :rotfl:

Congrats on being a new home owner. I bet you guys are absolutely stoked!

Saturday December 20, 2008

Today was our last full day in Disney, which is never fun. I was getting sad that it was almost over, but we still had a whole day, and lots of fun stuff. The Christmas parade was starting today, instead of the normal afternoon parade so I really wanted to see that. It starts the Saturday before Christmas, otherwise you can only see it at the Christmas party. They were doing the other Christmas shows as well, but it was mainly the parade I wanted to see. I warned DH before we left that it would be extra crowded today, since it was the beginning of Christmas week and all of the people coming in, but I had no idea how bad it would actually be!

We got ready pretty early, and walked around a little bit taking pictures before we headed to the bus stop…

It looked like it was going to be a beautiful day, and what a great day for enjoying the Magic Kingdom! We walked out to the bus stop, and it was obvious how the day was going to be, just by the number of people waiting in line for the MK bus. We didn’t have to wait a really long time, but we did have to stand, which was fine. People were pouring into the MK, so we knew that there would be lines for everything, and we needed to just accept it and enjoy being there, and not count on being able to do a whole lot. That was fine since we’d ridden everything we’d wanted to at least once during the week.

We just walked around for a little while, just taking it all in and enjoying the beautiful day. It was so nice out, and I was just enjoying being in the Magic Kingdom, a mere five days before Christmas.

We also had to get some Photopass pictures done, we took more time out to do it today since it was our last day, and again, we knew the lines would be crazy, so we just took our time walking around…

Since I don’t have good notes, I’m just going by pictures in order. I think we must have done Haunted Mansion first. It is my favorite ride, so we ride it multiple times. The line was the longest we’d seen it all week, weaving around and around in front of the ride. We waited maybe 30 minutes before getting inside. Pictures…

030-5.jpg

031-5.jpg

032-5.jpg

As we came out of the stretching room, and started walking towards the line to get on, the big crowd of people just stopped. They made an announcement that the ride was experiencing technical difficulties and that they’d have it going as soon as possible, or something like that. People started leaving, but we waited about 10-15 minutes, and it FINALLY started moving again. Everyone cheered. It was great, of course. I love it.

Next, I have pictures of the Country Bear Jamboree. I think I discussed this in my honeymoon TR, but DH thinks it’s hilarious, and requests it. We had missed it earlier in the week though so this was our first time doing it since our honeymoon, bc I don’t think we saw it in Oct either.

026-4.jpg

DH loves this guy…

028-5.jpg

029-4.jpg

We also went and saw the Enchanted Tiki Room. For whatever reason DH has never seen this, and I wanted him to. It was just starting as we walked up so we didn’t have to wait..

Very cute show. Outdated and nothing exciting, but cute.

It was getting closer to time for the parade, and people were already starting to line up and find places so I decided that we might want to do the same thing if we wanted to get a good view of it.

Up next-The MK Christmas parade!!
