Last Sunday, October 28.
We enter USO just under 4:30 on our PAPs. (And were reminded the park closes at 5:00.) These last two times our passes have not worked in their system. :confused3 Evidently the newer PAPs do not have photos. Ours do, and they are current. So we have not had too much issue entering, although their system would not read them.

We killed a little time and then headed to Finnegan's. We did not want to be stuck eating burgers with stale buns like last time. :sad2:

When entering, we were told we would have to stay there until 6:30. Fine with us. At least it has A/C and a place to sit.

We had a very good server. She suggested we try their Shrimp Escargo. Normally we don't care that much for appetizers, but figured what the heck. We had plenty of extra time.

DH had a Coke. I had ice tea.
They brought their usual warm soda bread, served with apple butter. (Good bread.)

The appy was GOOD. yummy, yummy, yummy. Tender shrimp with garlic, butter, and cheese.

DH ordered the Shepherd's Pie. He has had that before and said it is good. (I think I have too last time we were there the first '07 HHN weekend.)
This time I ordered the Beef and Blue Cheese salad. It was so gooooood. The greens were very tender. The meat was good too. Despite me ordering the meat WELL done, it was still pretty tender.
And the salad was huge. I knew I could not finish it, and I did not.
It was good. But all that blue cheese was salty.

Good food and service. And we were allowed to leave around 6:00.

We have done everything at least once, and been through the houses at least twice each.
This time we first watched Rocky Horror Tribute. It was much better than the first weekend when we saw it. And it was very good then. :thumbsup2 It would be nice if that was a yearly show, and get rid of Bill & Ted's. (IMO)

We also saw Jack's stage show again. Better than the first time we saw it. But still did not do much for me. :confused3 I wished we had stood off to the side to see if we could have watched how they do the magic tricks.

Other than that we just wandered around. Still no street scaractors noteworthy. I actually felt sorry for what were there because they were given such poor characters and costumes. What can they do with those in order to look scary for anyone over a young kid's age? (I did see one young girl crying and felt sorry for her. HHN is not the place to be if something like roaming victorian whitefaced characters scare you. Imagine what the houses did. )

One part was funny with the pointy hat clowns on the side street by Mel's Die. One of the clowns started following some people out of the area and said aloud, "These clowns S-S-S-SCARE me." That was a hoot as how could those clowns scare anyone? :lmao:

Beautiful walking weather, and another fun night.

DH and I have both said that we missed the good scare zones they have had these past years. Lots of dead street space. Way too much.
Yes, they have one more house. But neither of us would have noticed that. We rather have one less house and much better and larger scare zones. Plus Jack's show really was not anything I cared about. Where the shows in the past we watched several times and enjoyed each viewing.
I was disappointed with this year's theming anyway, as I have not watched any of those movies.
This year was VERY good. But past years were better, we think. Overall still a great time! And Freq Fear Passes make it a good buy! :cool1:

So does this mean that they will seat you if you arrive before 5 and let you stay till opening of HHN? I called to make a Finnigan's ressie and was told they only accept 'em till 3. When asked what time they close, I was told 5 and the person I spoke with had no idea what time they would seat till. We'd like to do what you did tonight...have a good dinner, then hang out till park opening. Just want to make sure we don't show up, only to get kicked out! Who scans your HHN tickets? How does that part work?

As long as you have both tickets, they won't throw you out. The restuarants stop serving at 4:30pm so maybe you can wait until HHN opens before eating. When you enter the S & S area, they will scan your ticket.

This is inkkognito, posting under hubby's ID:

It worked out really well...we came in at 4:30 to Finnegans and they told us we could come back at 5, so we rode Mummy several times and then popped back over there for dinner. Right after 5, someone came around to check our HHN tickets. At 5:45ish, they came around and scanned them and then released us into the park right around 6. Nice, painless experience.

We had to show our FFP as we entered Finnegan's. And they warned us they would hold us until 6:30. But they allowed everyone out earlier and it worked out fine.
They will check for passes before allowing you to be seated. While you are dining someone will come around and scan your passes.

They were serving food the whole time we where there. And we were seated near the kitchen. They still had a ton of bread. So we assumed they were open until sometime in the evening.

We did Finnegan's again tonight, and once again they let us out around 6. It was the weirdest night...park relatively dead to begin with, so even tho' we had EP we just walked on everything 'cause waits were 15 mins. or less. But then we did Bill & Ted, and after we got out it's like someone had sprinkled Instant Grow on the crowd. It was worse than Halloween! I had thought we'd wasted money on the EPs, but I sure was glad that we had 'em as it allowed us to do all the houses one more time.

This was our last visit to HHN '07...I'm already sad and awaiting next year.
