K. So you are wondering we I am starting this TR before we sail? Good question. I want to share our experiences in real time. So here we go.

My DW(37) DS(6) DS (4) DD (4) and I (42) decided in mid August that we were going to do a Disney cruise. Of course, we couldn't take advantage of the great GTY rates, because we have previously sailed in a suite and got used to the special attention. So I started my research on the Internet. I found a 1 bdr suite (cat T) for just under 11k. I called my agent and she quoted a similar rate. During my Internet search I came across COSTCO travel. They matched the price but offered a 1200.00 gift card for booking. Great deal...... But... I was loyal to my TA. I called her and she price matched the special offer. So we end up with a Cat T for a great deal. In addition, my parents decided to join us and we got them a VGT for a steal.

So we embarked on our concierge experience. We called our shore concierge 3 weeks prior to cruise. She was able to get us our ressies for both Palo and Rey, as well as Bibb and our preferred dining rotations. We asked about being seated with others and was told that concierge guest are always seated privately. Good news, I like to be on the DL on vacation.

We found out my parents were assigned and up graded to a a 5 A cabin and were directly under us by three decks... Perfect.

We are also heading to WDW for two days after the cruise. We have arranged a private tour guide for our short visit through WDW. We did this last year and were able to maximize our experience with very little time. The cost is pricey, but well worth it if you are limited on time.... Or in my case, you don't want to wait in line.

My wife is a bid part of this vacation, so she will be chiming in with her opinion. She was the rock that made this happen.

Next... The Disney dresses. All of a sudden I noticed that my wife was accumulating a large a amount of princess dresses.... How are we going to pack these...?

Wife here! This is apparently going to be a joint report lol. #1 can't believe dh announced my age :) #2 thanks to the DIS boards i have packed the Rapunzel, Aurora, Cinderella and Jasmine dresses very carefully in xl zip lock baggies. We can't forget or DS 6 captain hook and DS 4 Jake and the Neverland Pirate Costumes! Photos coming soon!!!

I'm joining in for the read. And we'll be joining you on the cruise as well. Our DD is 4. Can't believe it is in just 2 days! Can't wait!

Ok. Night before departure to Florida. We are packed.... Thanks to DW. Having a glass of wine and enjoying the first night of our 11 day vacation. Haven't completely shaken the work stress yet, but it is beginning to fade.

Up tomorrow for a family breakfast then off to the airport to nana pa's house. They are just as excited to join us on the cruise, only they are having a move difficult time getting packed. Pull it together Nana!!!!

We have everything set up, yet I feel like I should be doing something besides having a glass of wine.... Oh well. Disney made it so easy to do all the planning, that you feel like it was too easy.

We will be posting lots of picture... If I can figure out how to post them. Does anyone have any suggestions on that. It appears they want a url address to post??

Great start- can't wait to hear more!!! Bring on the pictures!

Ok... We are working on HOW to post pictures. The disboards does not seem to make it too easy.... Any suggestions?

Looking forward to this. We are booked in concierge next year on the Magic so any concierge stuff I love to hear (though I know it's different on older ships).

I thought the VIP tour guides didn't take you through the lines?? I'd like to hear more about this when you get to it. :)

We used a VIP tour guide last October. They do not advertise this, but the tour guide acts as your fast pass and allows you to ride, or re-ride as much as you want. They just show their ID and poof you are on the ride. We even had our tour guide lift the chain on a non-fast pass ride and place us in the front of the line. They always did it so other guests never saw. They accomplished this with back entrances to the attractions.

When we wanted to go to shows, he called on his blackberry and they roped off the front row for us. We then arrived a minute before show time and was seated just before show time by using a side entrance. We did this for lion king, finding memo, and numerous parade shows.

Like I said, the service is pricey....but you can really maximize your day. And, if you are like me....avoid those lines!

So here we are! We shall see if this works, fingers crossed! Photo from the beach this summer.

What a pretty family! Next time we get to FL we want to get family photos on the beach. Have a great cruise. Oh, and the easiest way for me to post pics is to put them on my Pinterest and use that URL here on the Dis.

So cool!! You're sailing with friends of mine (the Krafts) from a previous cruise! I originally planned on this cruise as the first of a back to back but decided to take my mom so she could see the new ship (she's been on the Magic and Wonder) so decided to take the Eastern on 9/22. So we'll be anticipating embarking while you'll be sadly debarking.

Enjoy your cruise! Looking forward to hearing all about it :cool1:

Ok. Just got back last night. We had a fantastic cruise followed by two days in At WDW. Time to get going on the trip report.

Day one - we arrived at the port around 12:30pm. We were in no rush since we had no need to try upgrade. We choose to park in the premium lot just next to the baggage drop. It was only $20 more and you avoid the garage and can walk right to your car on disembarkation day.

Check in at the concierage desk was simple and effortless. We were personally escorted thought the gangway to the front of the photo line and then on board.

We were escorted to the concierage lounge and meet one of the concierages. She reviewed our info and Lexus know our stateroom was ready.

The stateroom was very nice. A 1 bedroom suite, #12526. Our steward, "P" was awesome and so was his assistant Giesel.

Off to the pool... Rode the aquaduck with minimal wait. Fun!!!

Sail ways party was a highlight of the day. We enjoyed it and then headed downstairs for showers. Dinner at 5:45pm in Animators. Had an awesome server Andrea, and his assistant Igor. They really went above and beyond to make our cruise dining experience amazing.

Now for the food quality... We are used to eating out frequently and my DW and I were very concerned about what we read on this site. Let me tell you.... The food was awesome. I have no idea how anyone could complain. My only guess is that maybe the menu was too gourmet for the masses.

We skipped the first evening show, and the reviews from fellow guests validated our decision. We had wine in the concierage lounge.

Kids went to the the kids club.

I am going on the Western itinerary in a couple months and am very curious about your port excursions...awaiting your trip report with much curiosity!
