Our "Fantasy" Came True - February 7-14 2015...Lots of Pics (Updated 4/7...Day 8)

Such an amazing review. I greatly appreciate all the effort you put into it. I leave in 10 days and will soon be experiencing all the excitement and post cruise blues as well.

You are about ready to go! I am jealous! I know you will have a great time and join me in my post cruise blues (we should write a song about that).

I really loved the blog and thoroughly enjoyed reading along. We are traveling with another family in June on our first cruise. Kids are the same ages, so your report has gotten me more excited to see what fun memories we will make together. Thanks for investing time in the report and I hope you get to cruise again some day soon!

That's pretty cool! We both said I'm sure we still would have had a great time on the cruise had we gone without the other family but it really made it more special for us that we were able to share such a wonderful vacation with some great friends of ours. They would not want to do anything without their sidekick and it made it easier for us adults cause they could swim or whatever with their friend and we could find a place to relax.

Loved your report! Can't wait to be aboard the fantasy again on 10/31

Halloween! That would be fun. Are you doing Star Wars?

What a fantastic trip report! Thanks for sharing your amazing vacation!:)
Thank you. Kind of sad I'm done writing about it. Now I have to find other things to write about.

4 more days, but 2 till we fly out. I'm can't wait for it to get here.

It's been a year since our cruise vacation now and I am still inspired that I had to write about it again. Why was this vacation so darn special, even after a year?

Here is my look back.

Really enjoyed reading your trip report. We just got back from WDW and are now beginning to think about planning a cruise in the next few years. Reading trip reports are a great way for me to know what to expect.

I'm enjoying your very thorough report! I love the references to the 1s and 3s, etc. I am mom to 3 boys. I often call my oldest "Number 1 Son" (as Charlie Chan called his oldest in the old movies.) It does sound like favoritism to some people who don't have 3 or more same gender kids, but it isn't meant that way. We are taking our '3' as only child this cruise and will VERY much miss 1 and 2 who are finishing High school and can't miss school. My 1, especially, loved taking youngest to do kid stuff on our last cruise. (my teens didn't really like the cruise though TBH, so they are just looking forward to another trip this summer.)

Thanks. We opted for the cruise rather than WDW as we thought it would give us the Disney Experience and avoid all the walking and standing in lines. We want to wait with that until they are all older and (hopefully) won't complain as much. I think we made the right choice. We loved it so much, we booked another cruise....just not with Disney. I can't afford to keep doing Disney.

Nope, not meant to be, it's just what I know. Probably most of what I wrote will help parents with daughters. With that said, our number 2 is sort of the boy in my family and she gets along well with the boy from the other family that traveled with us, so anything she did, I could see boys enjoying. Honestly, I wrote this whole thing more to help me remember many years from now what we did on our trip. Along the way, hopefully it will help others sort of know what to expect which is why I added the notes at the bottom of each day.

A year ago today we were sitting on Castaway Cay! I re-read through your report so I could also relive the great memories we have of this cruise! I loved spending my birthday sitting on Castaway Cay with Captain Jack Sparrow coming by for a photo op. :) Loved reading your look back.

Awesome trip report and great photos! Glad you had a great family trip. We live here and I agree that the service very often is not good in Florida at restaurants (especially the chains near the tourist areas). I think it's because they feel like they have a captive audience, but I'm not sure. Living in Tampa, Disney cruises are one of my favorite vacations (along with WDW, of course). The big plus for us is no airfare for WDW or DCL out Port Canaveral. That really helps with the financial side of it. But I agree with you, DCL cruises are just magical. There is just something about stepping onto the ship directly into the beautiful atrium and hearing your family announced that instantly puts me in ultra vacation mode. The only way I get over the blahs of disembarking is to have our next vacation planning well into the works (maybe even book on board for the 10% discount and on board credit). We're in the final stages of planning for our Apr. 30th Fantasy cruise and I'll try to do trip report as well to help others. (Your tips at the bottom of each page were great, BTW.)

Wife and kids all read the blog again to reminisce. Unfortunately, as I'm reading through I keep finding writing errors. I need to go back and correct a good many things.

We didn't as we didn't think we would do it again because of the price. As the year mark got closer we started looking into other cruise lines. We are now booked for next January no Norwegian so we will see how that goes. Hopefully we don't compare everything too much to Disney.

Glad you like the tips. Hope it helps people plan their trip.

What a fantastic trip review!!
We went on our first Disney Cruise in January, 2014. Was the best family vacation we had ever been on. We finally booked another one for Feb, 2017. I hear you, there is just something so special about a Disney Cruise.....magical moments for a lifetime!

Read the entire thing! And ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT!! Your writing was super detailed and creative!
Thanks for the awesome reviews and stories!
I definitely need to get onto a cruise
