Our fabulous Disney Dining! Lots of photos -Day 8, Pop Century Food Court- Completed!

Thanks so much for your reply it was really informative, so you actually booked accomodation ad tickets on the disney website. I didn't think I would be able to because I am from a different country. Do you by any chance have a copy of the planning DVD. I have been on another thread trying to see if I can get one. It would be good to learn how you got it if you did find one.

Thanks

Fabulous reviews! You did a wonderful job! What part of Australia are you from? Fabulous, beautiful, wonderful country. We went there last August and 2 years before that as well. We loved every part we went to. I cannot wait to return again someday. You had a long flight to get to Disney. Thank you again for your terrific reviews!

jess98ac... Oh, yum! The sheperd's pie was DELICIOUS!! I definitely recommend it!

QuirkyButterfly... Yep, we booked all our accomodation and ticket-buying through the Disney website. It wasn't until a month later that I stumbled upon these DIS boards, and someone said, "Hey, you should be elligible for free dining!" So we called Disney and checked, and they confirmed that we were! Yay! So we called back again a few days later and booked all our dining reservations. It was all pretty easy to make reservations!

Unfortunately no, we never got to watch the planning dvd. I think I asked that question on these boards too - but people answered that no, they don't send it overseas, only to the US. Booo!

Seriously, any question you ever think of about Disney, if you post your questions on these boards, someone will have an answer within 5 minutes! It's amazing!! :thumbsup2

seetheworld... Hiya! We're from Melbourne, in Australia. Did you go there on your holiday? Glad you enjoyed our lovely country!! Did you have a favourite place? Funny - you came to Australia in August last year, and we went to America!

QuirkyButterfly-I have a planning DVD that I have already looked at- If you pm me your address I would be happy to mail it to you:thumbsup2

what a great review!! I loved all the pictures and you have a great memory! haha....

I really loved the boma and ohana because we're eating at ohanas after our wedding in september as our reception dinner and are probably going to boma as well and those were some of your top picks!

thanks again.. I'll try to take pics at my meals too wahoo! I love these kinda reviews! :cool1:

Hi! Yes, we went there on holiday. Funny how you were here and we were there. We pretty much toured the East Coast of Australia. Our favorite place was Port Douglas and we loved the Reef - we took *********** Tours out there. We staryed on 8 mile beach as well and it was so beautiful. Steve Irwin's Zoo was a favorite of ours and we returned right before his accident. It was very difficult news for us as it was for so many others. We enjoyed Noosa and of course we love Sydney. We never made it to Melbourne, but hear it is quite nice - maybe on another trip. You live in such an amazing & beautiful country. We hope to get back in the next couple of years. I want to see Kangaroo Island, Ayers Rock and return to Port Douglas. On our first trip 2 years ago, we went to NZ first and then went to Sydney - what a fabulous city! We took our 4 children and my mom and step dad on both trips and we all had a perfect time!

Wow!!!

I loved reading your post, it was so much fun! I'm off to read your trip report now. Like others have said, you really are a fantastic writer!!:goodvibes

Great reviews!! :thumbsup2 DBF and myself are going to WDW 11/30-12/7/07 and some of the restaurants you ate at we were thinking of trying. Thanks for the helpful insight; I'm sure it'll help us out in our decision making...

Your reviews are the bees knees!!! (Sorry i'm a huge Kath and Kim fan!)

I've loved reading them, you're great at describing everything and very funny too! I'm off to read your whole trip report now :goodvibes

Thanks so much for finishing of your dining report - I remember reading the first few days and thinking 'surely that's not it' and, sadly, it almost was :sad2:

I agree that the thought of not being able to go back for ages can be slightly depressing but, hopefully, you will be enjoying writing your trip report (which I'm about to go and read) and you'll get back to WDW one day :)

I know you wrote these a while ago...I just wanted to tell you how much I enjoyed your dining review!!!

I had a VERY similar experience at Le Cellier. I was less than impressed and disappointed b/c of the hype. I HATED sitting smack in the middle of the place, so close to other people I could hear their conversation and the icky things they kept WHISPERING to each other!:scared1:

The whole Southern Greens thing...yeah you have to grow up eating them to like them. I personally NEVER liked them and I was born and raised in the South. They infiltrate everything on the plate and ICK.

As for smores...you MUST rustle up a camp fire, get a package of marshmallows, some Hershey bars and graham crackers. Roast the marshmallows to a nice brown, and plunk them onto a waiting square of chocolate sitting on top of a graham cracker...squash it all together into a sandwhich and enter Heaven!!!!:cloud9: Disney smores are just not good. Sorry to anyone who likes them...but UCK. Not so good!

so glad you had a wonderful trip. Thanks for sharing!!!:thumbsup2

Just back myself so am a little behindin reading new threads etc.. We also ate at Sci Fiand liked it. I agree the Cookies Milkshake is delicious, they let me have it as my drink, I had the apple pecan crumble dessery it was not very good, the others loved their dessert. We will go back as the atmoshere is so great.

That's strange you didn't like Pop food court we loved it. but I didn't have waffles. The Adult braekfast plate was good but my absolute favorite is Twinkie Tiramasu , followed by theie sundaes!!

My panini was fresh and tasty, except the bacon had lots of fat and not much bacon. My Lay’s chips were a nice treat for later, and the rice crispie? Luckily, I didn’t eat it - it was out of date by 3 months, which I didn’t discover until we were back in our hotel room. Very sad! So that had to go in the rubbish bin, unfortunately!

Hi AussieAngel!

I've really enjoyed reading your reviews and trip report. It's funny cause while you were exploring Florida, where I currently live, I was living in Melbourne, Australia, where you're from! My husband & I lived there for a year and really loved it.

When I was reading your review that mentioned the expired rice crispie, it reminded me of something I learned from our experience overseas -- in the US dates are written differently than in Australia. For example, October 29th is written 10/29 in the US and 29/10 in Australia. This can be confusing when the day is less than 12 and you're used to seeing it one way. Could this explain your expired rice crispie?

Anyway, thanks for the great writing of your travels! :)

Cheers!

Kristen

Wow, I can't believe people are actually still finding this report and reading it!! I'm flattered!! :goodvibes

Bobo1... How funny that you and I swapped places in the world for a little bit!! I wish I was back in Orlando right now... wanna swap again? ;)
In regards to the date on the rice crispie, someone on the first page of this food review actually suggested that's what might have happened, but I'm pretty sure it was out of date. It was over a year ago now, but I'm sure at the time it really was out of date. But nevertheless, I'm over it now!!!

We're hoping to head back to Disney in September 2008. I'm already thinking about all the yummy new restaurants we could try! :cloud9:

Whoops, I really should've read all the responses to your post to see someone had already suggested the date thing! :rolleyes1

Actually, yeah, I would love to swap again! Melbourne is so awesome and we definitely miss it. We lived in Port Melbourne, by Bay Street. Now we live in St. Augustine, which is about an hour outside of Orlando. I did live in Orlando a couple years ago when I worked at Epcot. Still, maybe we should talk.. :cutie:

Thanks for your reply, AussieAngel. Have a Tim-Tam for me! ;)

-Kristen

P.S. I was happy to read that you liked New York City so much! I grew up just north of the city.

Yeehar, Bobo, let's swap lives next week then!! :woohoo:

Hehee, just kidding. I love Melbourne too. I just wish America was closer! I really want to go back for another holiday!!

How funny that you lived in Port Melbourne! Lovely! We went there last weekend for brunch! We even thought about having our wedding reception at The Pier, on Bay Street. I love Port Melbourne!

I'll be sure to eat a tim-tam for you, if you eat some cheese popcorn and peanut butter cups for me!!
