Our fabulous cruise on the Wonder! Jan 25-29

Wow. YOu did a great job on your kids pirate costumes. I went to walmart and was going to but glow necklaces and tatoos. where did you get your tattoos? :woohoo:

We hit the after halloween sales for those pirate costumes... that made it pretty easy... For the tatoos, we got them at walmart... right up by the register, they had girlie pirate tatoos, and boy pirate tatoos also. I think $3.99 for a giant pack... we got one package of each and used them for the fish extenders, too. I'll bug dh about the navigators today!

I admit, I saw you guys a couple of times, but I was too shy to go up and introduce myself... I never even knew you were so close to us! It looked like you guys were having a great time, though....

Aww! That stinks! We did have a great time! The first day, we were really focused on making sure my parents were okay because it was their first cruise, and my father has a lot of health problems. So we missed out on meeting everyone.

I loved your TR. Thank you for sharing. We have 2 girls the same age as yours. If you don't mind me asking, was the hair braiding costly? It looks like they put quite a few braids in their hair.

It cost $2 per braid. You have to be careful though... both of the ladies said it would take 18-20 braids, and they both put in 23. One of the ladies only charged me for the 20 she quoted me, but the other one charged me for all of them. With the tip, it came to about $100 for both of the girls... pretty expensive, but I figured we would do it once for the experience. They said you could leave them in for up to 3 weeks, and we just now took out my older daugters' braids. DD7 had hers out after about 1 1/2 weeks because she was getting headaches... Have fun!

Thanks for sharing. That was about the price I was expecting so it is nice to know what to expect. I think it is worth it. They do look adorable.

Such a sad day... we had to be at breakfast by 6:45, so we head down to Parrot Cay for our last meal onboard.

May I ask why you "had" to be at breakfast at 645? I thought I read that we didn't have to be off the ship until 930?

You have a choice of breakfast on that morning... you can get a very limited menu at Topsiders/Beach Blanket but it is most common for you to have a sit down breakfast in the dining room. You then leave the ship from there... Your assigned time depends on whether you have early or late dining...

Thanks for the info! I assume a late dining means later breakfast? If so, does anyone know if we can request a later breakfast as we'll never get our DD up and ready for breakfast by such a time.

Yes, late dining means later breakfast... we could have done the buffet up on deck 9, but we wanted to say goodbye to our servers also. I think if you want to have the sit down breakfast you have to go to your assigned time. I read somewhere else that this also helps them to control the flow of guests off of the ship... so not everyone is trying to claim their bags at the same time. I really liked having a nice, slow paced meal before I got off the ship. It seems like at the buffet everything is always so rushed....

It does make it easier... Of course I didn't want to get off... :rolleyes1

It was wonderful to read and see pictures of your cruise. We are going to be going on our first DCL in March 2013. Seeing all that you did and some of your suggestions sure helps. Hopefully we will meet up on the Fantasy in 2013!
