Our experience July 2 - DCA

Here was our experience on Friday July 2 at DCA. Hope it is helpful!

6:45 left Residence Inn
7:00 arrived Harbor entrance
7:15 security open
7:20 through security, 5th family in line at DCA gate
7:30 gates open, held near entrance to Avengers Campus/Carsland
8:00 rope drop
Note: We were one of the first 100 people on RSR. When we got off, the wait was 75 minutes.
8:00-8:20 RSR
8:20-8:50 Web Slingers (BG 13)
8:50-9:40 Ice cream break, Little Mermaid, Mickey’s Fun Wheel
9:40-11:20 Goofy, Soarin, Monsters, Philharmagic
11:30-12:15 lunch at Wine Country Trattoria (very fast service!)
12:15 - everything was more than a 30 minute wait, so we went to DTD for shopping and back to hotel to rest!

This sounds a lot like our plan for next Saturday! We typically start at TSMM and IC, but without FP+ we may consider RSR first.

We will take longer at WCT as a bottle of wine for two at 11:30am takes a bit longer to go down...

I think if you want to ride RSR first, you really need to be towards the front. Otherwise, I would do everything else in the park like TSMM and IC. Since we did RSR today, we decided that we are going to arrive later on Sunday 7/4 (maybe arrive at security at 7:45). And I think most rides (except RSR) will be a walk-on for the first hour. So we’ll do TSMM and IC multiple times first thing.

Thank you! This helps confirm our plan and we are ready for next week! We’ve been “gate shakers” in the past so we are ready to be really early on Saturday the 10th. Our first full day is at DL on the 9th and we will do the same at DL if Trader Sam’s isn’t to hard on us the night we arrive….
