Hi!!!! I've been lurking the threads here since getting engaged last month and finally decided to do my own PJ. I'm relatively new to this, but I'm a fast learner!!! :)

Well, this is all for now! I'll be back later today to post my engagement story and everything else I've researched so far!

-BB :wave2:

Welcome! I just booked an Escape wedding for February 2012, and I'm also in the tentative category -- Disney is moving slower than I am, lol! I've done lots of research online and on the boards, so I'm always ready to go whenever they ask for a decision. Right now, I'm awaiting final comfirmation of our ceremony date/time/location so that I can get everything else that I've lined up done.

I'm interested in seeing how you are planning things. There isn't a lot of information out there for Escape weddings, so I'm always interested in what other Escape brides are choosing to do with the package and what they feel is worth adding on to the package.

Congratulations on your engagement!

So I'm finally home from class, Wednesday I have a late six o'clock class that meets once a week. It's only the second week of the semester and I'm already regretting this decision. lol Enough with the drab stuff!

Let's talk about Wedding stuff!!!!

The Bride(Danielle)- I'm 22 years old and in my last year of college for a degree in graphic design. I've always been a big fan of the Disney movies (mostly the Princesses) when I was growing up, when I wasn't too busy pretending to be Batman (my second love! lol). My family was never very stable(financially/emotionally) and my biggest dream was to see Cinderella's Castle at the Magic Kingdom. It wasn't until I meet the DF that my life drastically changed.

The Groom(Ryan)- He's 22 and student teaching this year to be a High School history teacher. Everyday I am thankful that I have him in my life.

(This was taken the first time DF took me to DW!!!! I was so happy!)

We met when attending the same college my sophomore year, only to then find out that we also graduated from the same HS class. We just sort of clicked. I've never known anyone as well as I know him, and he knows me. After three years of dating, a few months after we attended his sister's wedding, I noticed he was acting a little weird. We had broached the subject of getting married before, deciding that once we graduate we would just have a small wedding. But, for a few weeks before our summer trip( to see the space launch and spend a few days at Universal in July), he started to tease me about getting engaged. I blew it off as him being a dork, and a few days later we left for Orlando.
Once arriving at our hotel, he informed me that we were actually going to DW and having breakfast at Cinderella's Royal Table the next day! I was so excited!!! I love the castle, and have always wanted to eat inside with the Princesses!
So the next day we arrived bright and early at the MK. Breakfast was wonderful, and after having my picture taken with Ariel (YAY!!!!), I thought this day could not possibly get any better! Until this was placed in front of me.

AHHHHHH!!!! I was in complete shock!

Next thing I know DF is down on one knee asking me to marry him!
This was such a wonderful surprise!

I knew that I just had to have a DFTW!

lol HOLY CRAP! Those pictures are huge!!!!!!!:rotfl: HAHAHA

Sorry, wasn't trying to just kill the page layout with the previous post lmao

How cute are you!?!? What a sweet engagement! Congratulations and can't wait to hear more! Welcome to the boards. :goodvibes

Thankfully the broken tooth that has been bothering me for the past month is finally gone! YAY!!!:yay: So after suffering through a few horrible days I'm totally back in the mood to look a DFTW stuff again!!!

Since our plan is to hold the wedding next December, giving us plenty of time to save up and get everything else settled after the DF graduates this may, we haven't really discussed too much in detail about what we really wanted for our special day.

The DF took it upon himself to show me what he's researched as a way of cheering me up last week, and I've got to say I love what he's came up with.

I knew as soon as I started looking at the DFTW that I absolutely had to have our wedding pictures to be taken in front of Cinderella's castle. It's the first thing I think of when referring to DW, and really the only image I had of it growing up. I was so excited to see it the first time the DF took me, and still get the same glow whenever I see it again as if for the first time.

The DF was like of course I knew you would want pictures at the MK, but why not Epcot too? I was so excited, I figured the DF wouldn't be in favor of the extra portrait sessions. He's pretty hard to capture on film for my memory books, but I guess he knew this would be special for me. The suggestion of Epcot too makes me pleased as well, me and the DF shared our first kiss on a bench in front of the lake at the WSC.:lovestruc

I would definitely love to hear the opinions of other DB. Was the MK/Epcot Bridal Shoot worth the money? And how many pictures are included in the portrait session cost? (When the DF proposed in the castle, he said they wanted $300 just for the photographer, each picture was a separate charge.) Since I'm not able to actually book my wedding for another few months I was just trying to get an idea of what additional expenses we should start saving for.

Thanks in advance for any help!!!:goodvibes

Hi!! Just jumping in with your PJ! Your engagement pictures are so sweet!

We are almost date twins-- I'm 12/22/12! Can't wait to read more!

So I think I've decided that even looking at Wedding Dresses right now is just a bust. I'm pretty certain that I want a ball gown style dress, I mean c'mon I'm getting married at DW I just have to have a fairytale dress! lol :goodvibes
I just can't seem to make up my mind about which one I would want to buy, and I'm certain a lot of it is due to body image issues. To be able to wear the dress I want (And not look like the Michelin Man walking down the aisle) I certainly need to shed more than just a few pounds. Thankfully the DF is interested in losing weight with me and hopefully we'll be able to motivate each other enough to get this really going. I think once I feel better about the thought of even trying on a wedding dress, that then this would be a much more enjoyable experience for me.

So I'm going to talk to a few friends and do a little research and see what helps other people lose weight. Our biggest problem is that we are always on the go, and it's only about to get even more hectic in a few weeks when the DF starts his student teaching full-time and my new job training begins. It's just way too convenient and easy for us to just go to a fast food place. This will definitely be the hardest part of getting fit. :worried:

Ok, enough of that. On a high point it's a lot easier and more fun to look at tuxes. :yay:

Earlier this year the DF's sister got married so I got a preview of him in a tux. The style they had chosen for the wedding was not a real good look for him. He's way taller than his brother-in-law, so the style of the tux just looked too baggy on him. Plus they tux was black. Personally I think because of the DF's light complexion (blonde hair, light skin, and blue eyes) that he just looks better in lighter colors. Which made me come to the conclusions that he should wear a grey tux/suit.

Our wedding colors are already light blue and silver, so a grey tux/suit would look wonderful. After browsing the web for a few hours I found a few good ones.

I really like this one! Maybe with a light blue vest and tie? :)

I finally got my DFTW brochure in the mail! YAY! So I'm taking that to work with me so I can finally show people what I'm talking about! LOL

Hmmm.... Fun fact: I can't look at wedding dresses without getting all *blah* and angsty lol, but I can totally look at bridal hair pieces and hair styles.

Like this one!!!!!
