To all who come to this happy place…welcome. Welcome to my first WDW trip report! Introductions will be taking place shortly so please grab a quick snack and take your seats, and remember no flash photography! ;)

Hi! I’m Keelie but you can call me Keelz and I’ll be your host for this fun filled planning extravaganza!

IMG_0579_zpsa6iijemp.jpg

I’m a Disney obsessed dancer, performer, part time travel agent and an ex friend of a pair of well loved Disney characters under 5ft2” tall! My mom took me to Euro Disney for the opening in 1992, and during the parade I decided that was what I had to do when I grew up. Many years down the line here I am, having travelled to New Zealand for a short dancing job in the Rugby World Cup, which led to me meeting my husband and setting up home down under. I’m lucky enough to still visit my home park DL between 1 and 3 times a year(even with a 26hour return flight L ) but last year developed a love affair with WDW after being accepted on to the CP.

Joining me on this trip are my DH, my DS11 (step) and my mom (is there an acronym for mom?)

Totally useless side note; DH and I met on a production of Peter Pan, he was cast as Peter and I was cast as Wendy, and the rest as they say is, history! We now love everything Peter and Wendy, and used their silhouettes on our wedding invitations :)

This is a first time WDW trip for DS and mom who are both DL vets, and me and mom are on a mission to try and visit every Disney park in the World…we’re crazy I know, if you’re reading this and you’re Disney crazy too we’ll get one well, let’s be BFFS! J All though considering this is a board for Disney fans it’s probably safe to assume “we’re all mad here…”

So on to the trip! We are going September 5th-16th staying at POR, last time DH and I stayed at CSR and loved it but thought we’d try somewhere different this time. I was torn between POFQ and POR, I loved the smaller size of POFQ but DH and DS we’re keen on the bigger food court and pools at POR so we’ll see how it goes! I’ve booked a standard view room through work and have requested a mansion room (worth a try I thought) but will be happy anywhere J

We fly from home to Auckland, then from Auckland to Los Angeles (13 hour flight) then from Los Angeles to Orlando (5ish hours). We plan to spend 9 days in the parks and a day shopping. We’re going to hire a car and drive to Florida Mall as DS and I are huge fans of the US shops.

This trip will also be my first time experiencing MNSSHP as a guest and I’m super duper excited!! Have yet to decide on a costume that will not take up too much room in my suitcase, and DS is very excited to experience his first American trick or treat!

So if you’re keen buckle up as you join us for the wildest ride in the wilderness, our 12,912KM journey to the most magical place on Earth!

Just a little update, today I called the lovely people at Disney reservations and made some ADR! I love calling them, it's like a little bit of magic in my day! :)
Lo and behold I managed to get a reservation for my first choice...

BE OUR GUEST!!! So excited for this as it will be our first visit and DH and I are going for a little romantic date dinner :) I can't wait to try the grey stuff!

I also managed to get an 8.05am reservation for Crystal Palace on a 9am park opening day for our last morning, as a farewell breakfast. I'm excited to hopefully get some quiet photos on mainstreet and get my fill of Mickey waffles!!

That's all for now folks...more to come!

This sounds like so much fun! My family stayed at POR a few times, and it's easily one of my favorite resorts. The theming is lovely, and I really enjoyed the food court there from what I remember. You'll have such a blast! :cheer2:

I feel like I'm stalking all the September trip people in anticipation for our 9/6-9/12 visit. We got BOG lunch surprisingly easily, and I can't wait! Good luck with your planning, and I'm looking forward to reading more :)

So glad to hear that your family loved POR, it looks like such a lovely resort so I can't wait to see it and take the boat to Downtown Disney!! :)
Who knows we might see you in September!!

Update time!!!

So this trip seems to be evolving slightly, we now have a full day layover in LAX before returning to NZ...so being Disney nuts I decided on a whistle stop trip to see my bestie who still works at DLR!! We'll not have long but gives us time to have a catch up lunch a couple of rides on TOT and Soarin and a quick shop at CompanyD so we're double Disney-ing in September!!

Also my mom surprised me yesterday saying she wanted to treat me to a May trip to DLR. Works been really stressful lately and its been over 6 months since I've had any leave so she felt I needed a break :) So insanely grateful as I could really do with a little magic right now :)

So its 5 months of lots of Disney for us and some serious airmiles!!

Hugz and waves from down under :)

So excited to see the Mickey's not so scary halloween party tickets released today, so grabbed 4 for the first party which is the last night of our trip so an exciting way to end the trip!!

DH and I are planning on dressing up as Rapunzel & Flynn Rider, managed to grab him a collarless shirt and brown pants from a thrift store the other day, so we are well underway in our costumes! :)

I got back from DLR last week and LOVED all the celebrations for the 60th, the 24hour party was crazy but manageable in the morning. I only had to wait in line for 45 minutes to get my exclusive pin and tee. I've been so busy and stressed with work recently it was a much needed Disney break and thoroughly put me in the excited mood for WDW in September!!

I looked into custom magic band decals today, 91 days to go!!!

So today we got a schedule change from Delta, meaning that we'll need to be at Orlando airport to check in by 5.15am!!! :o I'm not even aware that time exists! It does however mean we'll have a whole, yay, 12 hours in LA for a quick trip for DCA :D I can hear Anaheim calling my name, so excited :) Not much planning left to go now. We are trying to finalize our costumes for MNSSHP, I really want to go as Rapunzel but my DM wants to go steampunk and now i'm pretty keen on that. There's so many costumes and not enough time!

A BIG decision was made last night! We have decided on our costumes for MNSSHP :D DH and DM are going steampunk, and me and DS are going as Athena and Frank from the movie Tomorrowland :) I've ordered a dress and we are going to make a jetpack for Logan. Only 77 days to go!

I can't believe we leave in only 16days! It's gone so quickly but I cannot wait!

I've spent the last month or so finalizing plans, anyone care to critique? It would be welcomed :)

We've also had some changes with MNSSHP costumes as my dress arrived 4 inches too big in the body and it cant be altered! :( I'm reliving an old 'friend' of mine Alice and the others are still deciding!

I feel like i've forgotten to plan something big, any ideas? :)
