Our Disneymoon Dining Reviews and pictures 2/28-3/8

I'm enjoying reading your reviews & love the added pictures. I noticed you were able to use the plan at RFC and was wondering if you were on the premium package?

yes, we were on the premium package...it turned out to just be way too much food! It wa fun though b/c we didn't have to worry about signature v. non-signature and we do enjoy table service meals. One thing though, the counter service restaurants were unable to process the plan. For those we ended up having to charge the meal to the room and then fix it later at the front desk. But that was easy enough.

Thanks for the reviews! Congrats on getting married! I wish you much happiness! :)

For some reason, I can't see your pictures! It just says something about Photo Bucket and the link no longer being there. Am I the only one?

OK, as a foodie of the highest order, who loves eating out and can recall what restaurants I ate in 25 years ago and what I ordered, etc., finding these great reviews, WITH PICTURES, is incredibly fun. I mean, even I never thought of taking pictures of the food. Combine this with the fact that we are talking Disney at the same time and I guess thats why these boards get addictive!
Thanks for the great info!

I'm so sorry...I accidently deleted my photbucket pictures while I was messing around on the computer today...I didn't realize that affected my post. I'll upload them again tomorrow and re-insert the links.

Thanks for the reviews, glad to hear that you'll be reloading the pictures, I love food pictures! ;)

Day 4

We spent the morning on the “Around the World---on a Segway” tour. Lots of fun and I learned from a family who was also on the tour that there are segway guided tours in major cities all over the world. How fun is that?

By the time we finished it was nearly 11:30 and we didn’t have lunch ressies until 2. Looking for a snack, we hopped into the bakery in Norway. I’ve had rice cream before and remembered not enjoying it, but I ordered it again. It just looks so tempting with all of that strawberry sauce poured on top. It is cool and sweet but I think what gets me is that it isn’t smooth like rice pudding…the rice is crunchy like old, cold rice from yesterday’s take-out.

Shawn ordered a sweet pretzel. I think he was looking for something more like those giant pretzels at Wetzel’s Pretzels. This was more like the sweet, flaky dough that is used to make Danish horns formed into a giant pretzel shape and then drizzled with icing. It was good and he finished it but when he’s hungry he seeks out something a bit more substantial.

We paired our snacks with an iced tea and a diet coke, sat outside and enjoyed a little conversation under the covered patio.

By 2:00, we were patiently waiting for a seat at Sci-Fi Dine-In. The theming really is fun here although it is a bit strange to be seated in a car with other families. Our car had three tables and we were smack dab in the middle.

For our appetizer we both ordered onion rings. Shawn prefers tiny straw cut onion rings and these were not those. These were thick cut, lots of batter, very tasty onion rings. Unfortunately, I have to have bbq sauce with my onion rings which I ordered when I ordered my appetizer. It took many requests to get the bbq sauce to the table.

A quick note here that I had to have a drink with the glow cube inside. I didn’t have one at Prime Time a few days before but now I really wanted one. It wasn’t covered on the plan and with tax and tip, it cost me $8.00 out of pocket for a soda in a keepsake glass with a glow cube inside.

Shawn had a bbq chicken sandwich with fries. It was okay, maybe not even that. As hungry as he was he didn’t eat much of it. We really were here at this restaurant so he could experience it but he really just wanted to get out of there. We had some problems with the family seated in front of us but that’s behind us now.

I know, I know…I should have stuck with the sandwiches when at sci-fi but I really was craving pasta and the shrimp penne called my name. It was awfully salty and did I enjoy it? No.

It was too dark for me to take pictures and as you can see with the sandwich the pix just weren’t coming out so I opted to skip pix of dessert. Shawn had a chocolate sundae which he enjoyed and I had an apple crumble that I didn’t enjoy.

As I mentioned before the theming in this restaurant is fantastic. The food is mediocre at best and as mentioned before very, very expensive for such mediocre food. This meal came to exactly $80 after tax and tip. But what I haven’t heard before is how rushed you are in this restaurant. The waitress made us order all three courses in the beginning. Nowhere else were we asked to do this. The onion rings were out within minutes. We hadn’t even received the bbq sauce to try the onion rings before the entrees were out. We were half way through eating those when the dessert arrived. The tables aren’t very big at all and we were definitely squished for room with three courses and our drinks covering every square inch of our dining table.

I have to run errands this morning but I’ll get to our extremely enjoyable evening at Rose & Crown later today.

Best wishes on your recent wedding! Sounds like you two had a blast! Thanks for the great reviews and pics! It all looks so good!

DId the keepsake cup at Sci Fi have a lid??? I'm always looking for lidded cups for the boys to keep and reuse.

Yes, with the sci-fi drink the cup, lid, straw, and glow cube could all be washed and re-used. Here's a picture w/ a flash (of course the glo-cube is not visible with the flash).
