Our second full day at Disney World was actually spent at... Seaworld! Eeeek! Don't tell Mickey. But before we went to Seaworld, we had a breakfast ADR at...
The Wave!
That day was also the first day on the deluxe dining plan. Up until then, we'd been paying OOP for our meals. It's a long story, but basically because we were staying 12 nights, we had to break our stay into 2 - one 2 night package, and one 10 night package. So that morning, we had to check out of the WL and then check straight back in again. Easy and no fuss - and now we had deluxe dining! Yayyyyy!!! Let the real eating begin!!
I'd only ever read one review of The Wave for breakfast, but for some reason, I really fancied it! The menu looked great and I thought it would be something new and different to try. So off we went!
We caught a boat over the Contemporary, which we ended up doing quite a bit throughout our stay. We loved those little boats! We had a 7.30am ADR at The Wave and arrived right on time.
The entrance is very cool, and the restaurant inside is quite nice too. There weren't many people inside - only a few other tables were full. Hopefully it's a bit busier at lunch and dinner!
So our server told us we could choose a specialty drink as well as some bottled water. We chose Perrier water, which we shared. DH also had an orange juice and I had a special juice called Acai juice, which our server recommended. Here they are...
DH enjoyed his orange juice just fine, but my Acai juice... errrmmmm.... eugh!! I'm not exactly sure what it was, but it tasted like blackcurrant juice mixed with cough medicine. It doesn't look very appetizing, does it?! I only drank a little bit of it. Lucky we had the water too! I'm sure it was actually very good for me, and it was probably my fault for not ordering something I knew I'd like, but... I won't be trying the Acai juice again. Hehee.
My food, on the other hand, was much better! I chose the Eggs Benedict, which comes served with a Petit Filet steak...
I'm not much of a steak eater at the best of times, let alone for breakfast! Wah! I really only eat breakfast on the weekends and on vacation - normally I just grab a banana and eat in in the car. Bad, I know. But I still can't stomach massive amounts of food for breakfast. So no steak for me! DH gobbled it up though, and said it was excellent.
My actual eggs benedict were fantastic! The sauce on top was called cheron sauce, which had a little spicy kick to it. Really nice finish to some very tasty eggs. The breakfast potatoes were good too. I really enjoyed this meal!
DH ordered the Ham and Cheese Omelette...
... which he also really liked. After eating my filet though, he didn't eat all of his omelette, but he especially liked the cheesiness on top of the omelette. I had a little taste of it too and it tasted quite nice and light.
So that was breakfast at The Wave! It was pretty simple and easy, and most of all, very tasty and fresh. Everything was delicious - except for the Acai juice of course. Heh. We were only there for about 45 minutes all up, which gave us plenty of time to get to Seaworld before opening.
I'd definitely recommend The Wave for breakfast. It was quiet, easy and simple and a great alternative to a busy buffet if you're looking for something a bit different.
We gave The Wave 4 smilie men out of 5.
Next up... Our lunch at
Seaworld, and some snacks!
