Hi! We've just returned from a wonderful, fun, busy, fantastic 12 night stay at Disney World, full of lots and lots of eating at some excellent (and some not so excellent!) Disney restaurants. :cheer2:

I can't wait to share all our dining adventures with you!!

I took LOTS of photos. Over 250 photos, just of the food we ate! Wow!! Then again, we did eat a lot of food... I'm still full. Really.

So there was DH (29) and me. I'm Julie, and I'm 27. We're from Australia, and Disney World came at the end of our 4 week USA adventure. Before Disney, we had been to New York for New Years Eve (fabulous!), Miami, Key West, and then Disney. Yay!!

We were in Disney World from January 8th until January 20th, and stayed at the Wilderness Lodge, which we adored. :thumbsup2

We decided to do Deluxe Dining for this trip, just for fun! Why not!? It was our second time at Disney World, and it's not like we can just pop over to Disney any time we like, so we wanted to try as many restaurants as we could in our 12 nights there. Yeehar! How did that work out? I'll tell you as we go... ;)

Planning the restaurants we would eat at was half the fun of our Disney trip for me! I read squillions of dining reports, poured over the food porn thread, and studied the AllEars menus with a fine tooth comb until I decided on our final ADRs. Woohoo!!

So where were we eating then? Here's our final list of restaurants I'll be reviewing...

Woooooo!! That's a lot of restaurants, looking at it like that. No wonder I was full.

Plus of course, lots of snacks along the way. :faint:

I'll score each meal out of five little yellow smilie men... :) :) :) :) :) (5 being the best of course, and 1 being a disaster!)

I hope you join me along the way for lots of fun, fullness and festivities!! :cool1:

First up... The Plaza!!

Can't wait to read more and see lots of pictures!!! Most of those restaurants are on our favorites list!!! I am glad you liked the WL!! It is our absolute favorite place to stay!! We just got back a couple of weeks ago and we already have 2 more stays planned there this year!!!:goodvibes

Our first meal was on our arrival day at Disney World. We had driven from Key West to Disney, and arrived at the Wilderness Lodge at around 2pm. From there we went straight to the Magic Kingdom, played for a while, then headed to our 4.50pm ADR at...

The Plaza!

We had eaten at The Plaza for lunch in 2006, and really enjoyed it then. I thought it might be a nice place to eat for our first meal at Disney - nice and simple, but still tasty! :cheer2:

We checked in without any problems, and waited for around 5 minutes before sitting down inside. The Plaza is a beautiful restaurant - very bright and airy, with lots of mirrors and big windows.

The tables are quite close together, so I was a bit embarrassed taking photos of our food... but I soon got over it!!

So, the menu. The menu hadn't changed at all since we were there in 2006! But that's okay - DH is pretty easy to please, and being a good DIS-er, I already knew exactly what I was going to order. :thumbsup2

We both ordered milkshakes to start...

Mine was the mint choc-chip shake, and DH had the chocolate shake. YUM!!! We both loved these. Cool, refreshing and ultra-creamy! We were given the leftover shake in the big silver cup they were made in, as well - definitely enough to share, if you don't want a whole one yourself!

Then I'm afraid we both ordered the same food!! It doesn't happen very often, I assure you! We both had the cheeseburger with bacon, grilled onion and fries.

We were also given little side dishes with ketchup, mayonnaise and mustard. We both really enjoyed our burgers. They were big, fresh and very tasty! The fries were great too. Crunchy and thick. Two thumbs way up! :thumbsup2

Now here's where you might get cross with us. We decided not to have dessert!! Waaaah!? I know, weird! We were full already!! At this stage, we were paying OOP for our meals - we didn't officially start Deluxe Dining until Day 2. And with our big, creamy milkshakes, we just really didn't need dessert. Whoops! Don't worry - that doesn't happen again!!

Overall, our meal at The Plaza was just what we'd hoped - simple and tasty! The menu isn't very large, but for an easy table-service meal in Magic Kingdom, I really like it. Especially the milkshakes!!

We gave The Plaza 4 smilie men out of 5. :) :) :) :)

Next up... Sci-Fi Dine In!
