I just had to share!!!! :yay: She had her phone interview on Thursday of last week and she got her ACCEPTANCE email today. We are SOOOO VERY HAPPY for her. This is a HUGE HUGE DREAM FOR HER. :cloud9: Looks like MOMMY and DADDY will be visiting THE WORLD a couple of times between Jan. and May. :dance3: She has been to Disney World 18 times and her ULTIMATE GOAL is to work for DVC!!! She is a Jr. majoring in Mass Comm. with a track in PR and Advertising. :cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

Congratulations to your daughter! I hope she enjoys her experience as much as my son did. I hope you have a few extra points so that you can visit her a few times. We bought more points while he was in the program using his cast discount at AKL. Good Luck!:)

Congratulations! We were looking into it for my son, but I don't think he is going to have time if he wants to graduate in 4 years. As it is, he is going to have to take a couple of summer classes to all the pre-req's in that he needs.
Of course, I'm bummed--I was really looking forward to that DVC discount!

Good luck to your daughter! I've seen that avatar of yours for quite a long time now! It's great to see someone with such enthusiasm being involved in Disney!

So cool :cheer2:

My kids are only 10 & 13 but have 8 trips under their belts. About the time they are both in college, mom will be just about ready to retire to Orlando. I hope they, too, can do the college program!

I am very happy for your daughter. I hope it's all she wants it to be. Keep us posted!

Congrats! My DD is only 2 but we'd be thrilled if she got into the college program one day.

congrats again...and maybe you can help your DD take advantage of that CM discount ;)

Good for her!!! Our son did the CP last spring and it is a very unique experience for them. He was at Disney from 1/10 until 5/13/11 (what a great way to avoid the NE PA winters!!). He is also a Communications/Advertising major....graduating this December from Penn State. As he is beginning to circulate his resume he has seen how having the Disney CP on the resume has piqued interest. Don't know how much your daughter has researched the CP, but, Patterson Court is the newest of the apartment complexes. Jake's apartment at Patterson Court was nice....just very basic furnishings, but, for the amount of time they spend in their apartment it worked. He did say Vista Way was very old and showing its age. What did area did she get accepted for? Jake was Attractions and worked at the Studios Backlot Tour. It was an awesome job since Backlot is only open during daylight hours so the latest he worked would be 8:00 p.m and the earliest he needed to be there was 9:00 a.m......some of his roommates had to be at work at 5:00 a.m. some days and some of them worked very late nights during late park hours. One of his roommates was a Character Performer...I mean...he was best friends with a Character!! It was great!! I think I had as much fun as he did.........during my three visits!!!
By the way....you have good taste in home resorts......ours are also VWL and SSR!!!!

That is great news!! My boys want to work at Disney one of these days also!! so glad to hear it!!

That's awesome! Congratulations and I hope you're able to visit her often, I know if my daughter got in I'd be sleeping on her couch the whole semister ... you know, just to help her study ;)

congratulations!
I hope she enjoys it as much as my daughter did. She was there from 2/6-8/13/2010. She worked at the Captain's Grill at the Yacht Club. It was a wonderful experience for her!

Congratulations to your DD!!! That is super awesome!!!

My 11yo DD just sat down at the computer while I had this thread opened and she read your post and immediately started asking questions about going to Disney College!! You've planted a seed in her mind and mine too...

Our daughter got Quick Service but she can also audition on Oct. 16th in Philly for a "character". She has danced almost all of her life so she would not mind getting something in the dance arena...a parade or such. We have heard that you could get picked for a "face" character which PERSONALLY I think she looks like a DISNEY PRINCESS ;) and she is the perfect height too, but no matter what..... you will do some time in the "fur" aka FUR CHARACTER. :rotfl2: She is not sure if she wants to do the audition or not. If you get picked for something then you have to take that and not do Quick Service. She is torn. I will pass on the information about the apartments too. THANKS!!!!

Our daughter went through the CP 12 years ago. While interviewing after graduation, it seem all her interviewers wanted to talk about was Disney. She received several job offers and picked one in CA. Later, she was hired for a job at DLR and has recently become an Imagineer. Hope you have such good luck in your family.

I graduated from college 12 years ago and still regret not doing the CP. Wonder if I could enroll in our local community college and try again...hmmmm..... ;)
