has heart surgery scheduled next week on 8/12. She has a hole in her heart (called ASD - Atrial Septal Defect). Yeah, I am nervous about it. This is my little princess, my reason for getting up in the morning, the joy and the light of my life, in addition to my 2 other DDs, of course!! Rachel has Down Syndrome and she was born with her heart defect. Doctors were hoping the hole would close on its own, but that has not happened, so now we are at the point of surgery to close it up.

My wish is this - that everyone would lift her up in prayer. We are a praying family, and we covet the prayers of everyone who will pray with us for God to wrap His love around Rachel as she is under the care of the doctors and nurses as they work together to help to heal her sweet little body. Thank you all so much for your compassion. I will let everyone know when we are home with our precious little one.

Prayers are being sent for your adorable and precious daughter Rachel. Please let us know how the surgery goes. By the way, I love the pictures you have posted of her! Hugs to you all as you go through this difficult time.

What a princess angel! You are in my prayers. We, too, believe in prayer and I am one of those people who pray for everything. Keep us posted. Her picture is so precious!

Lord, We know that in Philippians 4:6 and 7, Your Word says:

"Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your
requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will
guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus."

Lord, we ask that You wrap Your loving arms around Rachel and her family,
comforting them and sustaining them with Your sweet presence. We ask that
You fill the doctors with Your divine wisdom as they attend to sweet Rachel.
We ask all this in Jesus' name.

I will keep your darling daughter and your family in my prayers. I will be praying for a successful surgery. Please keep us posted.

Rachel will be in my thoughts and prayers....along with you and your family.

Rachel will be in my prayers everyday & I'll remember her at Mass on Sunday.
God Bless her & your entire family - wishing you all the very best. :grouphug:
Your picture of Rachel in your sig is beautiful!

Sending up prayers for healing for darling Rachel and for strength for you and all of your family. May the Lord's angels surround you all, lift Rachel up and guide the doctors and nurses. God bless, and I look forward eagerly to a wonderful update.

If it makes you feel at all better-my sister was born with this very same congenital heart defect nearly 29 years ago. She endured 2 open heart surgeries, healed beautifully and became a dancer & a track star! I'm sure Miss Rachel will fare just as well.

My thoughts are with you and your princess-

I also believe in the power of prayer. May the Lord be with Rachel and your family and we will believe in a successful surgery and full recovery.

What a darling she is! Could not post until I said a prayer for her and your family. I don't want to promise prayer and not deliver. I to am a praying woman of Faith. Here is another short prayer for you to read. My payer agreement goes out to all of you for a total healing, a succesful surgery, wisdom for the doctors and nurses, a quick recovery and peace for all of you. In Jesus Name, Amen

Rachelsmom1....I am glad you posted..

We will keep her surrounded in prayers and good energy..

And recently, I had a friend whose son, he was a preemie, had this surgery. He is doing great.. I could not believe the pictures of him at the hospital after the surgery...incredible When they got in there, the hole was actually bigger than they thought, but he came through well.....the doctors were excellent and life is good.

So.... we got you covered.. hang in there Mom... She is such a beautiful princess..
