Our D23 Magic and Merriment Trip Report

This morning I received a detailed questionnaire from Disney about my feelings on the M&M event, and I made my feelings clear. After the holidays I plan to sit down and write a long, detailed message to D23.

As for milking the cash cow, the D23 events are supposed to be not for profit. But there's no way it cost Disney anywhere near the admission cost! If I hear back from them, I'll let you know their response. I'm sure I won't be satisfied with it.

Odd - I got that same detailed questionnaire about a week ago. I spent about 30 minutes filling it out. I wonder how many people will give them similar responses.

In the TR that I'm writing (almost done!), I discussed the non-profit (I think they said, "their goal isn't to make a profit" ... so a profit might still be made "inadvertently") thing. The wild card in the cost is how they factor staff. Did you notice that there were constantly like 7 D23 people around along with misc. CMs at the events?! If their salaries for the time there are factored in, that would explain the ticket cost.

I really hope that's not the case. If so, the first night's event, which was ATROCIOUS, would end up being even worse, as it would have had a lot higher of a price tag accompanying it.

WDWFigment, please let me know where you post your TR. I'm anxious to read it!

CC-

When D23 was first introduced, I considered joining. But I suspected it was too good to be true. I have some experience with Passholder exclusive events at WDW that turned out to be not so special.

TCD

I agree, that is why I have not joined. They are going to have to prove themselves & be consistant with good results & reviews before I join.

CC, Thanks for the mention in your trip report. I was not aware of Kassie's problems when we talked, and we hope everything is better at home. Somehow home seems to make things better. We did ride by Dave's castle later that evening. A wonderfully friendly guy and evidently a great technical mind. We have had maybe one warm day and it's cold again today. Supposed to be cool most of next week, so we may spend some time in the MH. We're already working on reservations for next year.

Kassie hasn't had a seizure in 8 days now. Thanks for asking! I agree about Dave. How is his wife?

As for reservations next year, I think we're going to go earlier - maybe October or early November. Those crowds were just too much for us this year.

I would love to see a picture of the Mickey photo op from the Top of the World lounge brunch. Anyone have it or have seen a picture from it?

Thanks!
