The best is the Sheraton Studio City. I don't understand why more isn't post about it. The rooms were great and it has three elevators that were quick. It is very close to the water park and about two minutes to Universal.
The worst is the Amerihost Diplomat. Our room stank of mold. It takes forever to get an elevator. The terrible karoke singing lasted until 11:00pm which kept use awake in our inside the circle room. The chlorine in the pool was too strong, but it beats too weak.
