Today is our last day at BCV. We have been in room 201, it is a dedicated 2 bedroom with the queen/pullout in the 2nd bedroom. We have a large balcony overlooking the court yard. It is close to the lobby and the bus stop. At first we thought that being right by the Magical Express drop off would be a problem, but we ended up loving the location. It has not been updated, but I am glad about that. I will miss the jetted tubs, I have used mine a few times on my very tired legs. We have had no problems with anything in the room or the hotel. Everyone has been friendly and helpful.

This trip has been different than normal. We brought my 13 year old nephew and my 17 year old twin boys. My boys just finished their first year of college and were used to going out on their own at all hours of the night, mostly taking their cousin with them. That was good and bad. I am glad that they could go to a late park and have fun, but some nights they would go downstairs to play pool late at night and not tell us. I am sure that this is just growing pains that every parent goes through and I need to apologize to my dad for doing the same thing.

My brother is getting married in Destin tomorrow. When we booked this trip, we thought that there would be Star Wars Weekends, then drive to the wedding. SWW was cancelled after we booked, so we kept the trip. It has been hot and crowded. The middle of the day just zaps the energy right out of you. I booked all of our fast passes for late afternoon. The boys would sleep late most days and then go all night. A few mornings I got my nephew up early to make sure that he got to do everything that he wanted.

We did go to the new DVC lounge twice. Once during the soft opening on the 4th, and once later in the week. It is a very nice place to get out of the heat. I want to be there during a thunder storm, I think that it would be gorgeous. Ample Hills is my new favorite ice cream place. I went there three times. The rest of the family still likes Beaches and Cream better. We had a lot of fun figuring out which one we liked the best.

This trip has made me love my DVC more, I have been an owner for 12 years. It was nice to know that we didn't have to stay in the parks all day, that we had somewhere nice to come and hangout during our down time.

Thanks for the details of your stay. Curious - where is Ample Hills? I haven't heard of it.

It is right next to the Boardwalk Bakery. I loved the Ooey, gooey, butter cake and the Oatmeal lace. The will put 2 or more flavors in a small cup, there are so many great flavors that it is hard to pick.

Isn't Ample Hills where Seashore Sweets used to be?
