This is our 1st time on the DDP. We are me, DH, DS11, DS9, DD7, DD4 Grandpa, Grammy, & Bob. These are what we have for now. Any suggestions?
*lunch at Cap'n Jack's for our DD4 who loves POC. We have never been.
*T Rex 'cuz it's new & cool
*lunch at Le Cellier for my DH who loves a good steak. never been.
*cosmic rays. seems fun. never been.
*El pirata y el perrio or the Pepper Market restaurant at the Coronado. my DS9 loves mexican food. never been to either.
*dinner at Tutto Italia. For my dad who loves Italian. never been.
*lunch at crystal palace. DH wants to see Tigger. never been.
*HDD Dinner. never been.
*50's PTC. been before. kids all love it.
*lunch at Akershus. been before. could change for different character meal. should we try 1900 bfast? any other suggestions?
Are there certain dishes you would recommend at these places?
Please forgive typos as I am typing on my Wii.

which is not always much.

TRex is loud. Don't know if that will bother your kids.

Le Cellier is worth it.

The entertainment area in Cosmic Ray's can get crowded. Go at a little off time if you can.

El Pirata is not open very often - more of an exception. Cantina De San Angel, the CS in Mexico at Epcot, is another option.

Tutto is a very good DDP value. The food is very good, but a little overpriced if your paying out of pocket. No issues since you're on the DDP.

I really like Crystal Palace. Usually do dinner where they have a few more items. Which meal is better probably depends on your touring and dining habits.

You'll have a great time at HDDR. The whole family will.

Askerhaus - my daughter couldn't go without a princess meal at her age. There are a lot of choices still out there. Ohana has Lilo & Stitch and Mickey. The dinner at 1900 has the whole Cinderella crew. Cinderella and the Prince are there. The step mother and the step sisters put on quite a show. There are a lot of character meals to choose from. Think of what character you want to see, besides Pooh, and let that help guide you.

IMO

Gram & Pop should skip T-Rex -- I've never been, but imagine it is noisier than Rainforest and Rainforest can push most folks over the edge.

LeCel didn't live up to our expectations-- it was good, but not great. If you already made the ADR, keep it, but if you haven't made it & have difficulty getting in don't sweat finding an alternative-- maybe Teppan Edo

I LOVE Crystal Palace! I think it is the best character buffet.

HDD -- The BEST all ages family meal Something for everyone in the group. There is a nearby playground you can take the kids while waiting for entrance

50s & Aker. -- always great to return to some favorites!

You've got a lot of our favorites in your plans, a couple of notes:

The only thing remotely linked to PoC where Captain Jack's is concerned is the name. The restaurant itself is just your basic oyster-bar decor, no pirate posters or anything like that. Definitely no Johnny Depp anyplace :sad1: I always feel like I've just walked into a Red Lobster that doesn't serve much seafood (just some crab cakes and a couple of fish selections).

Cosmic Ray's is fun, we love it - but with a large group you may need just a little planning of attack, that is, folks who want chicken dinners will have to get in a different set of lines from folks who want a cheeseburger. We love to sit close to Sonny Elipse on the main floor, which we never have trouble with since we dine at off times but if it is busy (i.e., lunch at high noon) it can be a bit hetic in there.

Crystal Palace is also one of our traditions - we eat there on the first day of every trip - and if it is possible to schedule your meal off-peak (earlier or later than 'usual' mealtimes, like 2:00 for lunch) you will usually get a lot of awesome character interaction.

We don't do Le Cellier anymore because we get better steaks here at home than we've ever gotten there and don't want to mess with the hype, but it is on many folks' favorites list.

I'm sure you're already aware of this, but just remember that T-Rex doesn't take the DDP credits. We're going to try this one on our next trip too.

Hope y'all have a great trip!

Thanks everyone!
We are going to cancel Cap'n Jacks and the charachter lunch in Norway. We are thinking about trying Chef Mickey's for bfast.
Add another question...has anyone been to Shula's at the Swan & Dolphin?
