Oh boy, I have never had a Disney trip where so many bad things happened. I was getting worried that it was a sign of doom.

We checked into Vero on Sunday Jun 25th. On the drive down there, we passed two bad accidents. I was a bit depressed for most of the drive. We got into the town of Vero Beach, and even though we had TWO sets of directions, we still managed to get lost for about a half hour. Finally check in. The room was great. 2nd floor in bldg. 14. 1427 to be exact. A slight ocean view. Very nice. The kids loved the slide and pool, and could not get over the fact that they just had to walk onto the beach. Tuesday we left Vero to drive up to Disney. We went to Universal for the day. I lost my credit card, can you say PANIC? Then, it rained. Then lightening in the area, so most every ride in IA was closed. We were not happy that after standing in a line for 40 minutes, then being told the ride was closed, we couldn't even get an express pass, or SOMETHING. I found myself resenting the place, because Disney does everything better. IMO. If Disney closes a ride where people have been waiting, they hand out Fast Passes. You know, the FP's that come with an admission ticket? One you don't have to pay for? or stay onsite for? I was already in a mood from losing my cc, so every annoynace was heightened. Because of intense thunderstorms, and nothing open, we left. We checked into BWV. On this trip of bad-things-happen, I even found a gross flaw with a Disney room. I see things through rose colored glasses when I am at Disney. But even those glasses saw the poop smeared on the door frame of the bathroom door. GROOSSS! What is going on? I didn't call about that until the next day. I was tired, and didn't want housekepping cleaning at 10pm. But we were checking out, I called housekeeping to tell them we are out of the room, and mentioned the poop doorframe. She didn't even sound shocked. She just thanked me, and hung up. WHAT? Off to Animal Kingdom to ride EE. We head over, and the line is already so very long, just 10 miutes after the park opens for EMH. Come to find out, they ride is having technical difficulties, and it will be awhile before it can open. We had FP's and went off. The park was so crowded. Like I have never ever seen. 100 minute wait for Kali River Rapids!!!!! We didn't even attempt the Safari. We got right on EE with our FP's. Got a FP for Kali, rode that, and called it a day. A CRAZY day. I didn't think we would be so happy to be out of there. We headed out to Vero to finish the week.

The next morning, my 6yo DS wakes me up to tell me he has a messy poop. I tell him to go into the bathroom, and I will get up and help him. I thought he just made a mess wiping himself. BOY was I ever wrong! It was all over him. WTH???? I go out to where he was sleeping in the living room, and he had gotten sick in the night. It came out BOTH ends. OMG! How was I going to call housekeeping? I was mortified! I got him in the shower, and Dh got up to clean the big mess. I called HK, to ask them to come up with upholstery cleaner. (DS slept on the chair and ottoman). At this point, I was wondering what the hell was going on. HK came and replaced the chair, and shampooed the carpet. they were really great, even though I was mortified.

The rest of the week was uneventful. The kids had a blast, want to go to VEro agin, and not WDW! LOL. I just could not believe the bad karma. But, it did not ruin our DISNEY!

Great report- certainly glad you were able to make lemonade out of all those lemons and hope your next trip will be more magical.

I go to Vero July 29th. Glad you got all of the bad karma finished off for the entire summer. Thanks! :thumbsup2 :lmao:

Oh my! Maybe the person in the room before you was sick (hence the poop on the door) and your son got it?? Yuck. It is so awful when your kids get sick.

We always stay onsite at US to cut the line. On our last trip there in January there were a lot of rides that kept going down and there were no thunderstorms. We even got stuck on that unicorn roller coaster at IOA for a good 20 minutes in the hot sun with a 4 and 5 year old.

Your next trip will be better!!
