Day 5 of being in Florida!
12/28/02

I'm up at 6:10am but I'm so tired! Everyone else ofcourse got a full night's rest but me it was only a couple hours. I'm tired- yet everyone else is cranky this morning. Woe is me. LOL

MGM Studios is what is on the "books" for that day. LOL We got in early at 7:20am but I'm not sure why. I think that must have been an EE morning but we were not staying onsite- so why'd they let us in? I'm not sure. Maybe we LOOKED like we should be allowed in because why else be there that early? (We were there that early because we didn't realize there wasn't a monorail to ride to MGM like Epcot and MK had. LOL We were a bit surprised that we were already THERE that early haha)

We rushed to ride ToT and RnR and then got FP to do RnR again later. Even that early the lines were already starting to get long! I guess it's just that time of year. We had breakfast at the Commissary and it was delicious! :)

We saw the Little Mermaid Show (which I'm very glad about because we didn't see many shows while there and while I can make up for that on my next trip soon- The Little Mermaid is NOT going on right now!!! So I would have missed it all together! So glad that didn't happen. :) The kids really enjoyed it! We also saw Muppets 3-D, Bear in the Big Blue House (another hit with the kids), and Indiana Jones (they could have done without that one but hubby enjoyed it. :) I videotaped most of these. So I think I'd like to see them all again without a camcorder in front of me. LOL

I lost one of our fastpasses in the machines! I left it at The LIttle mermaid and didn't realize it till later and it was gone when I returned. :( Fortunately the CMs were very nice about it and for the rest of the day they let us on rides, even doing the childswap thing, even though we didn't have one of the FP for one of my children on every ride.. it was one of the child tickets I lost although I'm sure that doesn't matter. They COULD have been sticklers about it and made us take a lot of time out of our day to brave the crowds all the way to the front and get another ticket taken care of- but they didn't. They all thought it was fine for us to ride with 4 people with 3 FP after I explained each time what happened. So nice! :)

We did the Star Wars ride, kids played in Honey I shurnk the kids set for an enormously long time- I couldn't get them to leave happily... ever. LOL and we participated (even the baby- haha- with our help) in Who wants to be a Millionaire. ONly one person made the hotseat while we were there though-and no, it wasn't one of us! What a dream to be in the hotseat and possibly win a vacation! Dream on Shelley. LOL

Got great places up front really early for the parade- videotaped that with pictures while the kids were placated with ice creams and a bit of soda (since they were getting hungry again already and had already eaten their lunch very early) -and then we ate at BackLot Express (for the kids) & Catering Co (us- it was delicious! Seriously.. we're usually kinda picky about our food and I'm sure you can tell from my "reports" that if there is something to complain about- I will. HAHAHA So if I say it was delicious- it realy was. Either that or I was so ravenous at the time anything would have tasted delicious. Might be. LOL)

Then we went to see the Osborne lights- sooo beautiful! The kids really liked this more than I thought they would. :)

We rode the RnR a few more times since they had been closed down earlier and had said FPs could be used anytime that day since our time earlier it had been down.. and it was slowing down for the day there I guess. My son couldn't ride though so the last time my hubby and daughter rode it- I took him and youngest daughter shopping.. to get him a special treat because he was so tired of not being able to ride that ride and getting upset about it. :( Ended up all he wanted was a stupid ball that lights up when you bounce it. It didn't even have WDW or mickey on it at ALL. Someone looking at it couldn't tell it was from WDW but it had a WDW price on it (haha) and I paid it because it is what he wanted. :) I also got the kids some suckers, snowglobe for my son's preschool teacher since she asked me to pick her up one for her snowglobe collection, and an antennae ball for me. I never even remembered to put it on my car while there though. I guess I don't want anyone to steal it even here at home! Keepsake I guess. LOL It's Mickey's ears after all! LOL

We picked up our pics and headed out- right at close at 10pm!!! I couldn't believe we actually stayed till close for once. LOL Everyone was so tired- that's even my husband's bedtime when he works days! LOL So everyone went to sleep while I washed some loads of clothes (in room) & the stroller cushion since my lovely husband had knocked over his coffee on it earlier- WITHOUT my daughter in it ofcourse- it was when he was parking it in the stroller section once- but then the rest of the day I had to have the stroller cushion covered in a turned upside down diaper so her clothes wouldn't get coffee stained! Had to wash that sucker. LOL Called and confirmed a babysitter for the 29th so we could use go to Romano's alone and then do some things we couldn't do with the kids (explained later) and cancelled our expensive NYE babysitter.

Oh darn- I forgot to mention that the first day in MK we decided to buy the penny press book and do those at all the places we went. We did that on our San Antonio trip too (pressing pennies- didn't have a book there for them though!) and the kids really like it. For some reason they like it- I don't know why. LOL But I like it because it was cheap and kept them from begging for expensive toys in every store we ended up in after rides and such. They would just try to hunt down a penny press machine (or quarter press machine) I highly recommend this activity for souvieners if you are not interested in spending a fortune on toys/etc. LOL

Okay- so on to pt6 if you would like to hear about our Animal Kingdom day! :)

I was so blown over by the Osbourne lights......it was just beyond words......I keep thinking that I was so cold that night and for once I didn't even feel it.......thanks so much for your great trip report and reminding me of our xmas visit

:D The pressed pennies are neat, aren't they? Sorry your son was upset about not being tall enough to ride certain things. He is braver than me for wanting to go on!
