My younger brother bought a Ouija board today and it got me wondering what the old tales of these were about. Then we were talking about weird experiences people have had with them.
My mom had one a long time ago, where they were watching a game show, asked if the blue team would win and it said yes. The blue team did win.

Has anybody played a Ouija board before and had some interesting, freaky or crazy happenings?

p.s. This isn't intended for flame suits or anything of the sort. So please, no heated debates on what or what not to beleive. :)

Just a visit from Captain Howdy!:scared1:

yes. sixth grade slumber party. never again, still don't like to talk about it, and i'm now 34. seriously.

Spooky!!!!:scared1: could never touch one after watching the Exorcist either!!

me and my 2 friends bought one at a garage sale once, we asked it who was there it said a name I believe Julie, I went home and told my mom, she was like where did you buy it we told her, her face went white. She told us there was a lady there who's name was julie but she died, my mom and other friends mom's knew her. I will never touch one again!! I know she wasn't making it up, my other friends mom told her the same thing as my mom was telling me. VERY VERY SPOOKY! We threw it out I think, maybe burned it which we later learned was a no no, we never closed the door... YIKES hope poor Julie isn't waiting for us to talk to her more.

There were four of us playing one night at a campground we use to go to when I was 18. It was the one kids board and said he had a man that would always come through named "Fred". My one friend got very rude with "Fred" and the thing you hold kept shooting at her. I thought it was a joke but then it did it when no one was holding it!:scared1: I asked it questions that NO ONE knew but me and I didn't hold it and it spelled out the right anwser to three different questions. Not yes or no questions. I never touched one since.

I got one when I was about 20, and opened it and "played" with it by myself. I don't really want to get into the details, but lets just say it took me a few months for it to leave me alone. I was at a really tough time in my life anyway, and this difficult time probably left me wide open to negative energy. I haven't messed with anything since that could possibly open Pandora's box again.

Well, I'm in a paranormal society, and twice now, when I've been there, we've used a "psychic board" (which is set up differently from a Ouija board, but I frankly believe it's basically the same thing). Although I want to believe, I'm pretty skeptical, so I had my suspicions that someone was pushing the planchette. It didn't feel like it, but the second time we tried it, it didn't move unless one particular member of our group touched it.

Anyway, the first time we tried it, apparently one woman's mother came through. The woman tested it, asking it what her father's name was, her husband's name, children, etc. and it was correct on all accounts. Then it started saying personal things, things that none of the rest of us knew.

The second time, we got messages from another member's ex-husband. He is in Iraq, and this woman did kind of freak out because she didn't know if he'd been killed or not. She did not have her hand on the planchette, but she kept asking questions and it answered correctly. Things like where they were married, what he dressed as for their last Halloween together. She tried contacting her ex-MIL the next day, and some months later, she discovered that her ex was still alive. After that, someone calling himself "JP" started to come through and kept saying "head hurt...head hurt." Another woman there had known someone named JP, who committed suicide by shooting himself in the head.

So...maybe it's for real, maybe it isn't. I haven't had anything bad happen since using it those two times.

I used one with a girlfriend of mine about a year after my exboyfriend was killed in an accident. Let's just say somethings were revealed on that board that she would have never known....since they never met each other.

I live in CT, the home of the paranormalists Ed & Lorraine Warren. Ed has since passed away.

Many years ago I went to a presentation they gave. It was very interesting. Of oiuja boards, they said "Perhaps they are a farce. But perhaps they are not. And if they are not, then what you are doing is opening a "door" between this world and another world, and you have no idea who or what will be coming through that "door". So why open it? Why take the chance?".

I always thought that was good advice, so I have never dabbled in ouija boards.

Exactly what I was going to post! I read The Exorcist before I saw the movie and the experience with the board=:scared1: .

That was by far and away the scariest book I ever read. I remember when I was in high school I stayed up and watched the Merv Griffin Show when he used to be on opposite Johnny Carson. They were talking about the Exorcist with William Peter Blatty as well as some of the priests who perfomed in the movie AND also a couple of exorcists. I remeber not even knowing what an exorscism meant ( I figured it was one of those boring financial things) but I figured I would just kill time till I was tired. I was so afraid after I heard what they said that I had to call my mother to come get me so I could go upstairs to bed. This was over 35 years ago. Well you'd think that just hearing about it would have stopped me. NO way I made a special trip to Boston when the book came out in paperback about 6 months later. Again being stupid my parents went out, I began reading the book at about 2 pm. I could not put it down and in the process the only light in the house on when I finished was my room. The rest of the house was dark and I was afraid to breath until my parents came home. I slept with the light on for at least the next 6 months. What made it even more scary was what the priests had said on Merv Griffin. They swore it was true and if you watch the movie with the director's commetary you will hear William Freidkin tell what parts were actually taken from the original case.
