Hi folks!

I was up late last night and happened upon an infomercial for Ouidad Climate Control. I live in South Florida and because of the humidity, I often straighten my hair to control my unruly curls. I would love to wear my hair natural but haven't found the right product. Might any of you wise Diser's have any experience with this one? Thanks!!! :goodvibes

I personally love all the Ouidad products. On a day-to-day basis I use either Tress FX alone or the Pomade mixed with a little gel. When I go to Disney, I take the Climate Control stuff and it works great.
My hair is curly and thick, and I don't have to use a lot of these products on it to make it look nice.

My DD uses the KRLY Kids stuff and that works nice and smells good too.

love Ouidad - esp the kids line

there is a Ouidad salon in S FL - you should check it out and learn their techniques

That's great to know! Is the salon pricey? I've heard the Ouidad salon in New York is a bit expensive, but I have been looking for a good cut... I just wanted to go curly without a ton of products. They made it seem easy enough on the infomercial! Is it greasy? Does it weigh the hair down? Or do your curls soak it right in? I had been using Nexxus Humectress as a leave in conditioner, but it doesn't do much in terms of controlling the frizz so I went straight.

Is there a routine with Ouidad? Do you follow the instructions provided, or do your own thing? Would you recommend purchasing the items over the phone (from the infomercial), or should I just visit the salon and purchase from there?

Wow! I just re-read my response and there are a lot of questions! LOL! Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you to all!

I love ouidad products, especially the climate control gel! Do you have a Sephora near you? They sell the ouidad products in sephoa stores and on sephora's website. I am going to for my first ouidad cut in NYC in less than 2 weeks. I am so excited!!!

Cool! I'll visit Sephora tomorrow! Aquagirl, congrats! Let me know how the salon visit goes! If you don't mind, would you include pics of before and after? I would love to see the results! ;)

I haven't used any of her products, but she has a book and, I believe, a forum online, and her advice has helped.

In the South my hair became what it is today! In CA it was weird...wavy in back, weird curly in front...in the South, it went ALL curly. Now up in WA, if I let it down every so often (I have the longer hair problem of just keeping it up all the time), I see that it's still quite curly all over. I'd like to thank my 4 years in South Carolina wiht time spent in NC and FL, and a bit in VA as well, for my hair-as-it-is-now. :)

Oh and finding someone who really knows how to cut curly hair helps, too. I think many people cut *just* at the wrong spot, killing the bouncy curl, creating blah-ness.

Bumbershoot, I have lived in Fl almost all of my life but my hair is the opposite of yours. My waves are on the top and the curls are on the bottom. If I leave it loose, the bottom hair is barely visible underneath the mass of frizz on the top. If I do leave it curly, I do the same thing, tie it up. It's too much hassle to get the frizz to behave!

I am looking to get my hair cut but I would really like to find someone that knows what they are doing. I trim my own hair, and now that it is healthy (no damage, split ends, etc) and almost all one length, I am on the hunt for a stylist that will take my hair to the next level. I don't dye my hair or put any chemicals in it. I either use rollers to create softer curls or Maxiglide for the straight look.

If anyone knows of a great hair stylist in Miami that works with curly hair and is fairly inexpensive, please let me know! I would greatly appreciate it!

Thanks!
