Well, I finally booked airfare for our trip. I was afraid we were going to have to drive. For some reason we have a hard time getting decent airfare out of OKC. It also didn't help that our trip is over Christmas. So Wedneseday I found some great airfare out of Dallas. We had to change our plans, we are going to leave on the 19th instead of the 16th which means we aren't going to be going to Universal.

Well, the point of all this rambling is that I then went to book a rental car! The cheapest I have found is over $700 dollars for 10 days!!!!!!! :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: They have got to be kidding. I can use ME and Disney transportation for everything I need. There is no way I will pay that for a rental car. Are there actually people that will pay that for a car?????

Staying on site no rental car for us.

I wanted one for a couple of reasons; one to resort hop and see all of the wonderful decorations with ease & two so that I could sneak away and get the kids Christmas gifts after we got there so I wouldn't have to ship them and worry about them being found ahead of time. I will probably just rent a car for a couple of days instead of the entire trip.

As an alternative, you may want to utilize ME to get you to and from the airport. Once you are onsite, you can rent a car for a few days from National or Alamo at the Car Care Center or the Swan/Dolphin.

That will give you the opportunity to resort hop, but also cut down on the amount of money that you have to spend on the car.

Also, most of the Deluxe Resorts are easily reachable form either the Magic Kingdom or Epcot via a short boat and/or monorail ride. This is our favorite way to resort hop. It's stress free!

Yup we bite the bullet and we do rent a van and it costs$$$ but we have a stroller and a Wheelchair and other medical things to cart around. Last time we rented it was over $800. We have tried other airport transportation and then using WDW buses etc and it just does not work for us. I know we have special circumstances so we don't mind paying the $$. This time I was able to "play" around with the dates and use codes etc and we are getting a van from Dec 22-31 from the airport for about $400. YEAH!!!!!!!!!!
