I'm looking for other vacation ideas for a short beach type vacation but we need to fly. I don't like driving long distances and my son gets car sick if the ride is over 2 hrs and we even do breaks in that 2 hrs.

We booked Disney for August but I'd like to go somewhere in June. Can you fly to any East coast beaches besides the ones in Florida? We used to drive to Ocean City growing up. We're in PA.

We sometimes just to Lake Erie in PA which is a two hour drive and there is an indoor water park there incase the weather is bad.

I don't know where in PA you are, but what about the Jersey shore, you could probably just drive there. Or you could fly into Norfolk and go to VA Beach, or fly into Boston and do Cape Cod. There's flying into Savannah or Charleston, SC for Hilton Head or Myrtle Beach.

I'd highly suggest Hilton Head for a family vacation. We go there every summer. This year we stayed at Waterside, and it was a short 2 block walk to the beach, and 1 block to a shopping center with grocery store, shops and restaurants. Yet another shopping center is across the street from the main entrance (again, a very easy walk) with another grocery store, more shops and restaurants.
Literally you really don't have to use your car at all the entire time if you don't want to.
They have 1, 2 and 3 bedroom condos and they are very nice.

Thank you for the recommendation!

disney is also in Hilton Head - that say the Marriott (which are on the beach) are a little nicer

we love myrtle beach. typically we drive and I prefer to stay a bit out from the "strip" area, but the condos/hotels are lovely, priced well, oceanfront, and have lots of great amenities (lazy rivers, waterslides, etc).

We also did Ocean City, NJ this year. Great family beach town, although much pricier than Myrtle beach and our motel was dated (although clean), and not ocean front, but great 1/2 block to boardwalk and ocean.

HTH! and enjoy!
