Other than attractions what is your favorite thing about Disney World?

The reasons listed eventually got us to move here - I wanted to experience that bliss all the time. We've been here almost a year, and the kids still get excited every time we drive under the WDW sign on Osceola Parkway. People ask "are you sick of it yet?", but I don't see how that could happen - there's just too much to get sick of!

I'm jealous! The best we could do is DVC...but who knows, maybe down the line we will make the move too. I'd love to be able to just hop in the car and go to Disney at will!

I love the evenings, walking back to our room at the Poly with the tiki lights aflame, and the music softly piped in along the walkway. Or the early morning, seeing a bunny along the walkway, and we're just beginning the day. Magical, we're in a different time & place.

My dh likes the first moment we arrive at the Poly, and we walk across the bridge and into the lobby for the very first time. The sight, the smell, suddenly he's relaxed and "in Disney" mode.

Can't wait.

I've thought about this...moving to the Orlando area and even possibly working for Disney (my ambition as a child good at drawing was to be a Disney animator, but I'm glad I changed my mind with computers doing all the work these days).
My question to those that have moved...did you move just to be able to go more often as a guest? If so, how did that work out? I guess my concern would be that the enchantment of the resort would be weakened by being a regular vs. a once a year or every 2-3 year visitor.
What about those that work(ed) for WDW fulltime (not college program)? What do you think? Again, my concern being working for Disney and their strict policies (rightly so) would kill "the magic". Anyone an imagineer? I ended up getting an engineering degree as opposed to being a starving artist...just curious.

I love walking down Main Street at night when all the buildings are lit up, it just feels magical. And every year, I get teary eyed the first time I watch Wishes. We're going three times year so I can get my "Disney fix."

I should've added those! Nighttime in the parks is the BEST!

As far as moving here is concerned, frequent visits don't really lessen the "wow" factor much for us. Not a day goes by that I'm not grateful that I live here. I am, however, hesitant to work for Disney, because I think it could impact that excitement. The weather is probably the biggest draw to living here (ask me again during hurricane season !)

I love watching my daughter's reaction to the characters! She is a little backwards from other kids....Arianna adores the characters in full costume with face mask and everything, but is very weary of the princesses and any character with a human face.

I love the smells, the sounds, picking the perfect snack, watching people. I don't enjoy cranky kids, impatient parents, and rude behavior (teens with foul mouths, smokers who think rules about areas don't apply to them, those who block the sidewalks and streets) but those are fleeting moments. Give me a snack, a bench, and WDW going on all around me and I'm in heaven, whether it's in a park or at a resort.

My favorite (non attraction) thing about Disney World is...

At the Magic Kingdom walking down Main Street just as it opens so there are hardly any people... drinking a cup of coffee, looking toward the castle and hearing all the music as it plays down main street.... ooh almost forgot... with the smell of the cookies that Main Street Bakery pumps outside.

Atmosphere in general ! Most people are on vacation while they're ther and it's hard to be stressed out when you're on vacation so it's a very stress-free place for me which means good, positive atmosphere.

That's it! The ability to be a kid with my kids is priceless. That's why we always stay on property - the total immersion in the Disney experience. It never gets old. I feel young and special...ahhhhhhh.

Oh I too love being a kid again! I also love the unexpected emotion that some times comes over me and makes me cry at the site of something! (I know its crazy)
I also loved watching our video at home for the first time and realizing all the music, It was like reliving it all over!
