Hi!

Newbie here. Been trying to find this info but haven't found it as of yet.

We're staying at the All Stars Music in April. I know we take the buses to the theme parks but how do we get to the other resorts?

Specifically to the Contemporary for Chef Mickey (ADR is at 7:40 pm) and the Grand Floridian for 1900 Park Fare -(ADR is at 10:00 am). Do we take bus to MK and monorail from there? Are the monorails marked with resort names so we get on the right one?

Also, about what time should we gear to leave ASMu especially for the 10:00 am breakfast?

One more thing-there are 3 adults and 2 kids-if we want to get a cab would we fit? Do cabs regularly visit ASMu or do we call?

Thank you kindly for your help!!!:goodvibes

Yes, that's the easiest way and the Resort monorail is clearly marked -- there's only one resort monorail that stops at all of the monorail resorts. Enjoy.

Note: It's actually easier to walk to the CR from the bus stop than it is to take the monorail, but you still might want to take the monorail because it's fun.

As long as everyone's up for it, I agree that walking to the Contemporary from the MK bus area is quicker and makes the most sense.

One day when I had a lot of free time, I got an aerial photo of the MK area and used a website that runners use to track our running distances. The walking distance from the MK bus area to the entrance of Contemporary is shorter than the walking distance from the MK bus area to the monorail entrance.

To get to Grand Floridian, you are probably much better off taking the boat (motor launch) from MK than you are taking the monorail. The monorail goes in a clockwise loop. From MK, the Grand Floridian is the last stop before the monorail returns to MK, so you're looking at a good 20 minute ride -- part of the slowness is that the monorail pauses at each station for a few minutes, it doesn't run as quickly or efficiently as, for example, an urban subway or El train.

Of course, if you see the motor launch just leaving the dock area as you walk up to the dock, then the monorail will probably be quicker. The GF motor launch also stops at Polynesian.

When you are going to transfer from one Disney Transport ride to another, allow at least one hour to get where you're going. SO for your 10:00 a.m. GF ADR, be at your bus stop by no later than 9 ... 10 mintes earlier would be even better.

As for your early Chef Mickey's ADR .... You might get lucky. For those very early buses, many people on the bus will be heading to Chef Mickey's and not to MK itself. It can't hurt to tell the driver you are going to Chef Mickey's, as it's not at all unusual for a driver to drop people off right at Contemporary rather than dropping them off at MK. This would never happen during the regular day, but there's a good chance of it happening early in the morning. It's an even better chance if MK isn't opening until 9:00 a.m., as you'll have fewer MK-bound people on the bus.

There is no direct transportation from ASmu to any other resort with exception to being in walking distance of the other two All Stars.

To get to the Contemporary and Grand Floridian, I'd suggest taking a bus to Magic Kingdom then boarding the resort monorail (yes it will be well marked). The first stop is the Contemporary and you'll be directly over Chef Mickeys! The Grand Floridian is the 4th stop on the monorail line, and some GF veterans say that it can be faster to take the resort boat from the boat launch.

Since your dinner isn't until 7:40p, I'm not sure whether your going back to the resort or not before dinner. If your coming directly from another park, I suggest using transporation from that park directly to the Contemporary via monorail or boat.

Anytime your relying on Disney Transportation, especially for ADRs, always allow 45mins to an hour. For breakfast, I'd plan on standing in the bus line for MK no later than 9am.

I'm not sure on the taxi fare but you would have to call for one. We've never had a problem with Disney Transportation in regards to resort-resort travel as long as we gave ourselves enough time. We hate that "pressure" feeling and it's such a bad start to an otherwise great meal.

While walking to the Contemporary would be faster depending on the time you arrive at the Magic Kingdom bus station and if it's close to your ADR time at Chef Mickey's, it might be faster to take the Monorail. The Monorail arrives on the 4th floor and once you get off and take the elevator or esclators down, it's a very quick 10 - 15 walk to Chef Mickey's. So just something else to keep in mind.
