Just a quick plug for Kelly Park which is located near Apopka. It is water fun for little money.
See this link: http://www.theotherorlando.com/contents/chapters/16/kellypark.html

Mostly locals only go to this park. It has lifeguards, a freshwater spring that runs through it from the mouth of a cave, crystal clear water....a beach area and walking trails. Beautiful and fun. Only $1 per person...bring a picnic, or visit the concession stand.

My local family likes to go in the mornings...stay a few hours until about 1pm then on the drive back home stop at Bubbalous Bodacious BBQ on Park Ave.

Directions from Disney Area (about 25 min.): Take the 429 tollway North to Apopka. (it ends there.) At the exit go right.....follow up to Park Ave. Turn Left. Follow Park Ave a couple of miles up to a T instersection Turn Right. Follow around the curve and park entrance is on your Right.
(you can rent tubes on the corner there at the t intersection if you don't bring your own)

Think lazy river like the waterparks have except that God built this one! GORGEOUS. And ECONOMICAL! Definitely worth the drive!

Letting you know since most locals like to keep this place a big secret. :cheer2:
Oh- and if you go during peak season....get there early. They do have a capacity limit.

We visited here in April and had a great time. Just a note: the first step in the water is COLD!!
