I was just wondering when most people start decorating for the Holidays?
I was driving in my neighborhood and someone was out finishing decorating their house, and that got me thinking on this subject. We usually start putting up the tree the weekend after Thanksgiving. :santa:

For us it's right after Thanksgiving. We normally get our tree either the weekend after Thanksgiving or the weekend after that. It depends on 2 things, if we are in Disney that year or not, (this year we are) and will it snow. I usually put it off if it looks like it won't snow. I like to be at the tree farm, cutting down a tree in the snow. To me that is the best!!! But everything else right after Thanksgiving (or this year as soon as we get back!)

I usually start my christmas decorating the day after Thanksgiving.... It is normally the night I return from my sister's and our day of black friday shopping.... I just love to decorate for the holidays:cutie: :cheer2: princess:

Wow, somebody beat me putting up Christmas stuff:santa: :rotfl2:

I am actually planning on putting things out starting this week. I just took down the Halloween stuff today. We have a lot of stuff so I want to gradually put it out. ALso my parents will be arriving the 2nd week in Dec so I need to have the storage room where all the decorations are stored cleaned out and the decoration boxes oraganized.

I usually put the tree up Thanksgiving weekend so I want everything else done. Last year the tree didn't go up until Dec. 9 since I was at WDW Dec. 1-8!

I have already started listening to Christmas music in the car. And I just watched The Christmas Shoes and its sequel, The Christmas Blessing this week. I just love Christmas.

I did a lot of cleaning today and baked cookies and bread to start getting me in the mood. Worked on cleaning the bedroom tonight while DH was at work though I'll need to finish it tomorrow.

Two streets over from our house is an awesome holiday display that is assembled Columbus weekend usually and lit Thanksgiving weekend. It covers two sides of the street and is amazing. We usually drive to it though we walked over last year to really take it all in. It was amazing after having just been at Disney.

Done rambling now! Now I'm really pumped to decorate!:santa: :santa: :santa: :cool1: :rotfl2: :yay:

I've never heard of this movie, is it good?? I've heard a Christmas song about Christmas shoes, is it similar?

It's the movie based on the song starring Rob Lowe and Kimberly Williams Paisley. It's a beautiful film. I picked both movies up at BJs this past week for $9.99 each. They also have the books that the song and movie were originally based on. Neil Patrick Harris is in The Christmas Blessing playing the part of the little boy from The Christmas Shoes. I also downloaded the song from Amazon to add to my large collection of Christmas music! Half of my ipod now contains Christmas music!

I am glad to see that I am not the only one who wants to get the Christmas stuff out! I like to put it out early, because I feel that if I wait until Thanksgiving and do it, Christmas is here in a blink of an eye and I am turning around and taking it all back down again. I like to enjoy it.

My birthday is Dec 1st so when I was growing up we didn't put out anything Christmas related until after we celebrated the birthday. Not anymore!!

I will try to get everything, including the tree, up the weekend of the 13th-15th. We will be leaving for WDW on the 18th, and if we don't do it before we go, I will feel like I am taking it right back down. Normally, I get to the weekend before Thanksgiving. I also am getting the Christmas music going now...

Wow, I love Christmas but we don't put our decorations up until December 1st:) I would do it sooner but my DH doesn't like seeing everything up so early. We don't even get a tree until about 2 weeks before the big day.

Maybe I should just put coal in his stocking this year. On the other hand he did agree to go to DisneyWorld and we leave in 6 days:banana:          so he's not so bad after all:love:

Usually we start decorating Thanksgiving weekend. It all depends on if we are going somewhere that weekend or not.

This year I'm cutting back on decorating. Every room in the house doesn't need to be decorated and I think I spent almost every weekend until Christmas last year putting up something or another. Between decorating, shopping and baking, I was extremely stressed out last year.

I'm trying to get DH to cut down on the amount of Christmas lights he puts out this year too. I'd like to at least have the ones he puts out match. :rotfl:

Inside..right after my birthday, which is Nov 16th. Outside...right after Thanksgiving.

We normally start after Thanksgiving, although I fully admit to loving Christmas music and putting it on in the car in October. It turns out my daughter likes it, too! :) This year, I was thinking that Thanksgiving is pretty late, so if we get to it ahead of time, we might put some things up before then, but who knows!

I have already started. I do not want to be putting lights up outside in the freezing cold.

If the weather is nice we will probably hang the outside lights this weekend. If not, next weekend at the latest. I hate hanging lights out in the cold, so we try to do it on a nice weekend in November so we don't freeze.

I will probably get my trees up and assembled the week of 11/16. They take awhile and I hate doing them. I will decorate them Thanksgiving week. The rest of the decorations come out Thanksgiving weekend.

Lights inside and out do not go on til Thanksgiving night though.

it was in the high 70s this weekend- should have done it then to get it out of the way but we'll hope for another nice weekend closer to thanksgiving

Started organizing a bit this weekend. Will probably put up some things this coming weekend. I was so happy to put the Haloween stuff away! :santa:

We will put up everthing inside and out the weekend before Thanksgiving.
And turn on the outside lights on the evening of Thanksgiving day.:santa:

I absolutely adore Christmas so I can't wait!

Thanksgiving Weekend for us...usually the day after Thanksgiving unless I go shopping, in which case we wait until Saturday or Sunday.
