OT:What to do with Girl Scout Cookie Revenue?

2nd year Brownie Leader here. We are down to 8 girls this year, but the girls still did pretty good. :) We always save some $$ for next year. And we also have an annual troop Mother-Daughter event (held around Mother's Day) that the girls plan. This year we are going to a pottery place and then a pizza party at a restaurant near by.
Last year we had a lunch at American Girl Place. And as Daisies we had a luncheon at the chruch we used to meet in. The luncheon was really nice. The girl's made place settings and we made paper flower (quilling) centerpeices. We had lots of tea sandwiches, salads, desserts, ice tea, punch. The girls sang a few songs and we had a scrapbook of all our events and meetings. We also had a raffle of small prizes for the moms.

Our girls always choose to do something with their moms. And most of my girls are NOT interested in camping!!

This year our booth sale profits will go directly to one of our brownie's medical fund. Unfortunately she suffered a spinal cord stroke 3 weeks ago and has been in the pediatric ICU ever since, hopeing to move to a rehab facility soon. She is on a ventilator and cannot move. So sad, a perfectly healthy 7 year old one minute and then boom, it hit fast. She complained of a head and neck ache, went to school nurse, by the time the dad came to pick her up she could not move. Hug your kids a little tighter and say an extra prayer for Grace please!!

The rest of our money we are planning on doing an overnight at the Science Musuem. Hopefully we can still get in, I just have not been in the mood to call about it since the above happened. We also pay for next years dues and all the other expenses we have (try-it, craft supplies, etc).

My dd is a cadette and they are going white water rafting this summer in west virginia. My dd is 12 and it's a little scary letting her go. But her leader is very protective of the girls. and i might go too.The have done alot of fun things every year.

I hear you. My DD12 Cadette just got back from a ski weekend in NC which she paid for by selling & serving lots of spagetti dinners. Her first words when she got back were--"Guess what? I got to ride on one of those stretchers all the way to the bottom of the hill!"
