OT: What jeans do you buy if your a "real" gal

I love L.A. Blues from Fashion Bug. Love the way they fit me

I also like my Gloria Vanderbilt jeans from Kohl's.

I had this problem back in January. I literally tried on 50-60 pairs of jeans at Kohls, Macys, Gap, Eddie Bauer, American Eagle, True Jeans and Bluefly. NONE of them fit. I finally went to The Buckle and a salesperson there helped me find some jeans. They are Lucky Brand and I love them. They will hem for free. They are expensive.

The best fitting jeans I have are my Lucky Jeans! My sister-in-law handed me down a pair last year. (She had stomach surgery and lost over 100lbs!) They are the classic fit with spandex in them and they fit my curves in all the right places! I am hourglass shaped and find that jeans frequently gap in the waist if they fit my thighs.

I was wearing a 10 when DSIL gave them to me and now I am a 6. They still fit, but I need a belt!

They are pricey... but I just got a new pair on eBay for around $20! Just make sure they are a style that has spandex in them.

Another vote for Lane Bryant Right Fit jeans. All my other jeans would fit in the hips and gap in the waist. When I sat down, undies would show!:scared1: Not these, they are PERFECT!! I have 6 pairs.

Actually I was in the other day and asked about the sizes 0=12, 1=14, 2=16, 3=18, 4=20, 5=22, etc. I just got a pair of these jeans and I absolutely love them. I'm a hippie "blue" pair gal and these jeans fit perfectly, no mom crack, no gap, not too loose and not too tight and some good old stretch. :thumbsup2 So for the size 12 and up girls I really recommend trying them out. They are a bit price at $40, well at least for me, but so worth it.

If you sign up for the emails at LaneBryant.com you can get coupons for $25 off a $75 purchase. Two pairs of jeans would be $80 minus $25 = $55. Not bad. Alao right now they are running a special, if you spend $50 you get $25 "Real Woman" bucks to use later.

I hated them! And then what women don't realize is that when you bend over.......well.....you get the idea. I have seen more butt crack since those darned things came out.

Dawn

That is super low rise, there are different degrees of low rise. Some sit just below the natural waist. Those look really good. I would have to be doing some serious calisthenics for anyone to see my butt crack, plus I would have to forget my underwear. They talk about it all the time on "What Not To Wear," They debate the "mom jeans" all the time, and the women do look better when they give them up.
It's just like Zubas, somebody still makes them, you can still find them, but should you?

I finally gave up on women's jeans and went with men's. My newest pair is from Old Navy and are men's loose fit. They fit in the waist and are loose in the legs. And there is the plus of no stretch in the fabric. My problem was that the women's jeans hugged in all the wrong places.

Glamour magazine just had a section on finding the right jeans and said the one jean all their testers loved was the "Flirt" jean from Old Navy. I believe it came in sizes from 2 to 20 and ran about $30. I haven't tried them yet, but I'm going to. :goodvibes

I saw this on GMA I think. I need to go try them on. They had models of all different shapes and sizes wearing the same style jeans and they all looked good!

Once you go lower rise, you won't go back. I would try a pair on. They are more flattering and sit right over that little tummy area instead of drawing attention to it.

Unfortunately, that's only true if you don't have a "junk in your trunk" as they say. :lmao: In my case, low rise should be illegal. That was the problem when I first poised this question, all the stores in the mall were carrying low rise. All I can say is after 2 kids and 47 years of gravity, nothing I wear should be labled low rise.

I tried the talbots jeans (thanks ladies) and they are great

As PP mentioned, I also like the Gloria Vanderbilt jeans. They also come in short, regular and tall which is helpful. My favorite is Levi 515 - they are mid rise, but everything actually stays covered.

Unfortunately for me, nothing could be further from the truth. Every pair of low rise pants I have bought have either gone back to the store, or to Goodwill. I can NOT stand feeling like my pants are falling down all day long. And no one wants to see my belly pouch highlighted by a pair of pants that land exactly right there.

Ok - I'll post! I'm surprised no one has yet mentioned the NYDJ (Not Your Daughter's Jeans) jeans !!!! They also go by the name "Tummy Tuck" jeans. They really ain't cheap - list price is $96 - but they are made in the US and are absolutely incredible! My husband actually starts drooling when he sees me in them - now, that's priceless!!! Whose husband notices what brand of jeans his wife of 20+ years is wearing? :rotfl: Mine does (now)! I've got at least six pairs of them in different colors/materials/styles - all on huge dept. store sales (Lord & Taylor) or via ebay - for less than $25-30 each!!!

I forget where I first heard about them - Today Show? - and while shopping with girlfriends last year, we saw them in Nordstrom (on the sale rack for $60 ) and thought we'd just try them on for fun. OMG! So comfortable and they lift or do *something* to your, ahem...let's call it your rear-end assets... :rolleyes1 that makes it look SO good! We all bought pairs - from size 16 to 8 - from petite to tall and darn it...don't we look fabulous! They are all I wear now - my previously "they're fine - from TJ Maxx for $15 on clearance" baggy/saggy packin'-a-few-extra-pounds-Mom jeans have ALL been given to Goodwill.

Even if you never buy a pair, (if you see them), quickly try a pair on and check yourself out in the mirror...:cloud9:

(The super great other news is that I've been so motivated at how I look in them - I've been losing weight and how have dropped three sizes since I bought my first pair. And I hope I'm not done!)

I'm 28 and a size 16. I've always had a hard time finding decent looking jeans.
Last year I was in JC Penney when I happened upon some jeans called "7". I tried them on and fell in LOVE! They have a little bit of stretch in them...just enough to make them fit great. I went back and bought 2 more pair. I've never been able to find them on the internet, or anywhere else, but I sure hope that I'm able to find them again. And they were a decent price (around $30, I think).

Ok, sold. LOL
I actually just checked out the "find your jeans" site and these were the ones that they recommended for me, along with 3 styles of Big Star jeans. All are way more than I normally pay, but for the right jeans, I'd do it. I have heard NOTHING but good things about the Not Your Daughter's Jeans, guess today I'll be going on a jeans hunt with my mom! LOL (She's taking me shopping for my birthday today!) Today's not my birthday, I've just had the gift cards and "we'll go out to lunch and shopping" date with my mom for months, hard to coordinate that many schedules!

Nope, for a post-baby body (i've had 3, so the dream that it'll go away is looooooong gone!) there is nothing worse than jeans that sit UNDER the pooch. Add to that being 6 feet tall, so no overhang on my shirts, and its a bad combo!
Now, I don't like the Steve Urkel look either, so I LOVE midrise jeans. I used to really like Old Navy's, but the last few pairs I bought were terrible. The 16s were too small, and the 18's only fit for the first hour, then they were falling off. That is what I HATE about stretch denim...it only fits right for an hour!
But for shorts, I love the Cherokee brand at target. They stay in place.

I was just gonna add Lucky Brand ! They are not cheap but wear well. An outlet opened up where I outlet shop and I bought a couple pair. Very comfortable and looked good dressy or just out.
