Hi All ~ Other than working for the Mouse, what would be your dream job? [real occupation please, no billionaire money counters....heeheehee]

I'm pretty much doing my dream job with kids and art, so I'll say more of the same and maybe a professional selling artist!

Oh yeah! I'd love to own a big ol' building in a quaint town [close-ish to Toronto] and call it the ZEN ROOM. I would sell books, music, musical instruments, art work, new age stuff and have a cute cafe. Upstairs would be a studio for artists and teachers of yoga, art, music, kids stuff.

Blessings, Sandra

I already had my first dream job. As a kid I always wanted to work on the radio. My friends and I would use a tape recorder and pretend the be dj's.

Well, when I was 15, I got a part time job at my hometown radio station. That turned into a 19 year career.

My next dream (other than Disney related) would be working as a travel agent/consultant.

I met someone about six years ago who worked for Sun Microsystems. His job was technology evangelist. Basically he sat on standards bodies and ensured that the technology was compatible with Sun's products. A very cool job. The tricky part of course is the amount of travel involved. I wouldn't want to do this kind of a job until the kids were out of the house.

Owning a cross stitch store would be fabulous.

The other dream job I am working towards is becoming a travel agent.

Sounds like you have my dream job!

Working in a store plant /flower shop (Nursery),,playing in the dirt all day is my dream.:lovestruc
Someday when I retire I plan on doing this. :goodvibes

Paramedic.....I was all set to go back to school a few years ago but when we ran the numbers I decided not to do it just then. At the time our oldest DD was in grade 10 and I want to pay for her education first. It will always be there so I'll more than likely go for it in a few years.

Ironically.....that DD now about to graduate, is planning to become a Paramedic. Who's following in who's footsteps?????

Planner of all things! Really, I would love to be a party planner or large event co-ordinator. Lists are my thing and I love to get involved in this sort of thing. The other thing that falls in this category is planning vacations for others. Not a travel agent, but actually doing the detailed itinerarys for families going everywhere ( mostly Disney though :rolleyes1 ).

Well, of course I would love to sell my art work in galleries and all that jazz, but as far as a real job goes, I would love to get into concept art (for movies, sci-fi or fantasy). Creature design would be my absolute first choice. I would also love to work in animatronics.

I would also love to breed goldfish! Though my goldfish collection is still very small (one telescope/demekin - my avatar- and three *insert breed here* faintail crosses) there is not enough goldfish selection out here. Of course, I could do all three things - work as a concept artist/professional artist, and breed goldfish on the side.

Don't worry, I've already become used to being a starving artist! (The disneyland/ walt disney world obsession isn't going to help any:laughing: )

I would like to work for one of the big matress companies ie Serta as a matress tester. My job would be to sleep on various matresses and rate them. Ideally it would one type for about a month and then switch it up. So if they had 11 or 12 models it could be a full time job 8 or 9 hours a day!!!

Can you tell I love my sleep!

That would be a good one.:thumbsup2

I've got my dream job. Stay at home mom.

I can honestly say I have my dream job. It sounds corny, but I am a Reading Recovery teacher at my school. I teach grade 1 students who struggle with reading. I have been teaching for over 20 years and this is the best position I have ever held. It is just so rewarding to know you have taught someone a skill that will help them all their lives.
When I retire in a few years I'd love to work a couple of days in a bookstore or a library.
What a great idea for a thread!
:tinker:

Good question Sandra. I think my dream job would have something to do with history which is what my undergrad degree is in. Not exactly sure what that job would be though -- maybe something at history television? I'd love to be able to have people love history as something more than just dates and names.

I like my present job well enough but it's not a dream job.

not sure what my dream job is, but I am sure it isn't my current job:sad1:

for me - photographer.

i'm trying to get my wedding photography business off the ground but it's super competitive in Toronto and advertising is so expensive when your starting

And here I thought I was the only one who dreamed of being a travel agent. Since I obsess about all the details I know I would be really good at it. In fact, I think I almost enjoy the planning more than the actual trip. A close second would be the guy who does "Don't Forget Your Passport".:thumbsup2

My friends always joke and say "you should be a Disney travel agent" and I'm like YEAH that would be awesome!!! Just a side note, when I was at my local CAA office the other day, we were talking about Disney and where we'll be staying this fall and I told them SSR and OKW....well, if the girl there didn't say "oh, those are moderates"! I wanted to slap her! I thought "your in the travel business and you don't even know what your saying?" I had to politely correct her and say it was equivalent to a deluxe resort but I don't think she believed me. I could do SOOOO much better than that girl!!! :rolleyes1
