Almost half of the first page are threads that are not reviews. There are questions about which restaurants to eat, recipe requests, etc - all of which belong on the main restaurant forum page.

Are there no moderators for this forum, or do they no longer move the incorrectly posted threads, or do they not care??

:offtopic:

and don't get me started over the "you have 3 months to finish your reviews once you start" sticky rule. There are plenty of reviews that have taken 8 months to 1 year to finish.

I agree...all of the posts that aren't reviews. Bugs me, and I think they should be moved.

And I know it's voluntary, but if you're going to start a review, finish it!!!

I agree about the posts that are not reviews, though it's not a big deal to me. I don't care how long it takes someone to finish their reviews though.

I agree. I come to this area of the board looking for reviews. Sometimes, you can hardly find them!

I am also tolerant of those taking a long time to finish. Life happens.

My secret peeve? Pre-dining reports; I'm more interested in the reviews and pictures, not where you think you'll eat in six months.

I agree with everything you wrote. I especially don't care for people's pre-trip dining reports.

I was wondering the same, this is the review thread. I really enjoy reading reviews regardless how long it takes though..

The same thing happens over on the thread mean for resort pictures and videos. It gets filled up with people asking questions about which resort they should choose, or which one has the nicest pool.:headache:

Bugs me I have to scroll through all the crap just to see reviews..people need to look before they post..

Was thinking the same thing. Why are recipes posted here? This was my favorite thread and now it has little to do with dining reviews

Personally, I just wish people would list what restaurants they are reviewing in their first post. I love when people do that because it makes it so much easier to decide if I want to follow the thread. :)

I love reading reviews and wish there was more of them but having done one a few years ago I know how much time goes into them.

I swear I could have started this thread myself because I feel the same way :goodvibes.

I don't care for the pre trip dining reports either so I just skip them

I agree. I feel like a review snob. I only read the reviews that have all of the restaurants listed in the first post because it takes too much time to scroll through 30 pages of posts. And I LOVE it when they have a hyperlink straight to that post!

Those are pretty much the only reviews I will read. I don't want to be scrolling through pages and pages of other people's posts and questions to get to the rest of the OP's reviews.

And personally I don't really understand why it would take someone months and months....up to a year....to finish their review. Sure, there is the occasional tragedy in someone's life that might warrant taking that long, but it seems like there are a lot of reviews that take months to be completed. I get bored with those and generally don't go back to them. I like the reports that say "completed" or "finished" so you know they're done! :)

I also don't like the pre-trip dining reports. I don't even like them on the trip reports

So much narrative.

So much scroll.

I hate when people never finish a report, then start a new one. Then never finish that report either!

:thumbsup2:thumbsup2 OMG both of these!!!

I don't understand why it takes soo long to finish a report? So many of these are almost if not already a year ago... REALLY? ugh...

My promise if I decide to do one, this trip will be quick and to the point!

My pet peeve is a reviewer tells us about the restaurants he/she will be reviewing and the next three pages are posters saying "in", "can't wait", "you go girl", "sounds yummy", etc. who cares if "Mollymouse" is looking forward to reading a review. Then once pictures are posted a commenter posts the pictures in their reply saying how good everything looks. I would much prefer the reviews be posted and at the end we can all comment.

Sorry for my rant, but a review should be a review and not a bunch of posters telling us they are reading the review.
