OT--What can I buy my mom 50 of???

Scratch off lottery tickets for sure! We get them for my mom for every birthday, and she definitely got 60 for her 60th! And I do believe she got 70 for her 70th! Of course, my mom likes to gamble so these are her favorite gifts, lol!

In addition to what you do give her - buy a poster board - and glue 50 hugs and kisses candy on it!!!

Have you seen the poster board poem, where you include the candy (instead of words?)

Poem!

They say when you reach the age of _____ you tend to become a bit of a SLOWPOKE and always say things like where's my WHATCHMACALLIT? They say you develop BUTTERFINGERS. However, the SNICKERS you hear are sheer envy. We know what a SMARTEE you are. You always know the SKOR and could be anyone's SUGARBABY. We know you are CAREFREE enough to do the CHARLESTON and yet be a LIFESAVER to those who need you. If we had 100GRAND we would take you on a shopping SPREE to 5th AVE or to the SMYPHONY or on a spaceship to MARS or the MILKYWAY! But when PAYDAY is over and our balance is at ZERO, we hope you'll be spending an evening of CHUCKLES with friends and family who are NUTS about you and GOOD & PLENTY just the same. For A CRACKER JACK person who's EXTRA special. With MOUNDS of love, hugs & KISSES!

I wonder tho, if there arent any clubs you could interest her in? I'm nearly 50, and I know it is hard - but a gym membership, bowling league, local business group - Lion's club, something to get her with people?

THANK YOU FOR POSTING THIS POEM. My sister is 50 this year and I am SO EXCITED to make this for her!!! I never heard of it!

Scratch off lotto tickets... I would be in heaven. Of course I got a few years to go til I hit 50$ but I would be happy with that.

My moms turning 50, you just gave me an idea she loves scratch off's also, Thanks HelenePA

I personally would love a 50 minute massage followed by 50 pieces of Sees candy:love: . (Note to DD 7 more years !!!!)

which was terribly expensive and put a fifty dollar bill in it. She loved it and still uses the wallet to this day. At this point in my moms life, I send her money so she can spend it however she sees fit. She already has a house full of knick knacks and really doesn't need any more!!

My kids gave me a list of "50 Things We Love About Mom" for my 50th b-day. There were sentimental and sweet things, and funny things...

2. Nobody, but nobody pulls off lime green like Mom.

3. Never late to a party.

12. Never misses a photo opportunity.

14. Nobody looks better in a fannypack.

23. Always has something nice to say.

30. Has always, and will always love us more than anybody in the whole wide world.

31. Introduced us to the Beach Boys.

34. Gave each of us three amazing siblings.

41. Never missed any of our games.

46. Always the first to suggest a Mickey Bar.:thumbsup2

48. Her signature is easy to forge.:scared1:

49. Always put in a good word for us with Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny.

This was by far my favorite gift of all times and I have the list framed and on my familyroom mantle. I'll bet your Mom would love a list from you!

since she likes gossip mags, how about a subscription to *People* (or another one) for 50 weeks?* (my mom is a gossip mag girl too, but she'll never spend the money on *People* - she only buys the cheaper ones but loves People).

How about making her a coupon book of 50 coupons. I did this for my friends 30th birthday. About 10 of the coupons were for good things like "one free dinner at your a restaurant of your choice", "one free house cleaning", "one free movie of your choice", "one free ice cream cone", "one free home cooked meal of your choice", etc. but most of them were funny things like "one free fashion tip - in a pinch, a blue highlighter can double as eyeshadow", "one free notification that you have something embarrasing stuck in your teeth". "one free quote: then list a quote about turning 50 or something","one free embarrassing thing that you do that I won't laugh at", "one free memory that I cherish: then list a good memory you have", etc.

I found a bunch of quotes, sayings, tips, jokes, recipes, poems and other things online that I knew my friend would like and used those things for "filler" coupons so I didn't have to have all 30 coupons that were things that cost money. For the "good" coupons, I just thought of things we liked to do together, or things that weren't too expensive that she would enjoy. Also, that way I could give her more for her birthday but didn't have a huge expense all at once.

You could make a lottery tree using one of those photo frames with the metal spiral slots to put photo's only you could put the lottery tickets there..Or use a fabric message board and fill it with 50 things, photos, lottery tickets, resturant gift cert, favorite store gift cert.

We have a friend who gave her mom bathroom tissue rolls. Very funny because, and you may or may not understand, it was always the one thing she bought at the store if she needed it or not. Was always worried about not having what she needed when she needed it.

We did something funny for my FILs 50th birthday. A group of us chipped in some money $5 here, $10 there - and I went to the $1 store and bought 50 pieces of yard art. You know frogs, butterflies, signs - things that are on sticks and you stick in your yard? (We lucked out that it was near Halloween, so we got some tombstones too!)

At midnight on his birthday we snuck and attacked his yard with yard art along with a sign that said "Happy 50th Birthday!" :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

It has now become a roaming joke. The "exhibit" moves from house to house for certain # birthdays. 30, 35, 40, whatever. Each person that gets it usually adds their own unique piece to the group.

For my grandpas 75th birthday my mom went to the bank and got 75.00 in pennies. We painted some old paint cans gold and put the money in the cans he thought that was so funny. Just and idea
