I received the phone call today - we'll be there on October 19th!:cool1:

I used to live in NYC, but haven't been there for almost seven years. Any information about good places to stay near Carnegie Hall would be appreciated!

Thanks!

NO WAY! HARRY POTTER AND NYC ARE 2 OF MY 5 FAVORITE THINGS! The other 3 are God/Jesus, Disney World, and last: my family. J/K. You are sooooooooooooooooooooooooooo lucky! Enjoy and live it up! WOO HOO!

take lots of pictures and come back and share them!! No hotel advice, I'm just jealous

ZPT1022 - no problem! Can't take pictures inside Carneige, but I'm sure I'll have plenty of others. :)

Our family tagged along with DH to a convention in NYC a few years ago. We stayed at the Park Central (www.parkcentralny.com). It's catty-corner to Carnegie Hall, three blocks from Central Park, a half-block from a subway station, and no more than a 10-minute walk to Times Square. The Hard Rock Cafe was around the corner, and a Pick-a-Bagel place was right next door for quick, healthy, inexpensive food.

I can't say the accommodations were fantastic, but to be fair, the hotel was in the middle of a renovation and we got one of the pre-renovation rooms. To put it another way, the hotel room would probably cost $85-$90 a night anywhere in the middle of the country. ;) However, the location was PERFECT for us. I have no idea what price range it was, because we were getting convention rates anyway.

Good luck with whatever you decide. Have a WONDERFUL trip!!!!!
