OT: We had a great time in Paris

Happy New Year to you too. Glad you had a wonderful time. Thanks for sharing your lovely photos. :goodvibes

Did you get to see the fireworks in Paris?

Happy New Year - you have some wonderful photos - I saw the Galerie Lafayette on TV a few weeks ago and it looked so beautiful.:goodvibes

I take it you didn't manage to get to DLRP ?

But they must have been very close to DLRP. Because the first 2 pictures are from the shoopping center in the DLRP area!!!

Loved your pictures! We're considering a trip to Paris, and your picture descriptions are very helpful. How long did you stay? Did you go with a tour group or on your own? Would you recommend going in December?

We went on December 27th and it was quite busy. We did the trip ourselves although I would strongly recommend a tour like Cityrama because you bypass all the queues and pack more in. All the Chrissy Decorations were still up which was nice. The RER and metro trains were packed but manageable - we got seats each time.

Queues were long though - 90 mins for the ET -the same foer the Seine Boat Trip. Unfortunately we would liked to have done the open bus tour but waiting times for thse were 2 hours plus.

Its a lovely city - well worth a visit if you are so close at DLRP.

HI ! We didn't go to DLP, maybe next time we will when we have kids. :goodvibes

We planned our trip by ourselves. Rick Steve's book and podcasts on his website definitely helped. I also borrowed some Travel books from library.

We made the most out of Carte Orange (which is metro1-week pass in zone 1 -5) because we actually arrived in Paris on Monday (Dec 25)and departed next Monday which is Jan 1 , coincidentally all trains are free on the morning of Jan 1 ! Hehe ^_^

We watched the countdown in Effiel Tower area, it's very very crowded there but the Fireworks is not that great . IT's ordinary and a bit disappointing.

I can imagine Paris would be even better in the summer....but for now we need to save $$.
