Has anyone tried one of these yet. My husband has a lingering cold that won't go away and we want to make sure it isn't something worse than a cold.

We were wondering if anyone else has tried this clinic yet and how the pricing is.

He can not get into to see his reg dr for a while and we did not want to wait. We were trying to avoid the hospital walk in clinic prices for something like a cold. We are just trying to be safe thanks

TIA:wizard:

Not Walgreen but the same thing at a different store and I was quite pleased. The Nurse Practitioner was very nice, listened and was thorough. We had very little wait and even tho we had to pay our insurance did reimburse us for the visit. I was actually happier with this encounter than when later in the winter my DD was sick and we were able to get into the reg Dr.'s office!

ETA I think it cost $35. or $39 for the visit but like I said we submitted it and the Insurance did cover it.

Hello,

I can't speak for a Walgreen's clinic but we have tried the CVS minute clinic. Hubby had a "cold" that was getting progressively worse so we went to the CVS minute clinic because we couldn't' get in to his doctor. It turned out he had strep. They were able to test him and he was prescribed antibiotics. It was covered with his insurance, so he only paid $20. It was quick and easy. We highly recommend it.

I don't know if you have check out their site but in case you haven't here is the link. I took a quick peek over and it seems really helpful.

good luck!

We've used the Walgreens clinic (I think it is called Take Care Clinic) and been very pleased. I don't remember the pricing but it was no more than our regular doctor co-payment. We were very pleased with our experience.

One note where I had a problem one time. We don't used credit cards so I do not carry one with me. I went to the Walgreens clinic and waited with a sick child only to find out that they would not take a check and I did not have enough cash with me to cover the cost. I had to leave, go cash a check at the grocery store down the street and then return. Now I know to take cash.

Our CVS has something similar, and I have used it twice - once to get a strep test, and once for a sinus infection. Both times, the staff person was excellent and I was only charged my regular co-pay.

highly recommend :thumbsup2for small things like colds that won't go away, ear infections, etc... I'm on High Deductable insurance, so costs me $70ish. With HMO/PPO insurance seems to cost $35ish. Nice because if/when you need a prescription, they can send it to their own pharmacy, you don't even have to leave the store. One stop shopping! :)
