DH and I will be married 5 years this October and we are looking for quick weekend getaway, somewhere we can drive to in a few hours. We are looking to just relax, do a little shopping, maybe go to a casino. I heard that Tremblant just opened a casino, so we thought about two nights there. Anyone been there before in the off season, what activities did you do? Plus there are SO many resorts/hotels, anyone have a good reccomendation of which hotel to choose?
Well tremblant does not really have an off season.. if you go inthe summer htere is plenty to do, same with fall and spring. In the fall it is sometimes more expensive, depending on when you go, because lot"s of people go there to see the fall colours. Check out this site for great info: http://www.tourismemonttremblant.com/en/
We really enjoyed mt. Tremblant. The gondola ride to the new casino is beautiful. Lots of great hiking trails that would be great in the fall. Nice little beach with boat rentals, lots of shops and restaurants. We got a vey good deal at the Residence Inn, it was nice.
hi
I'm not sure when in October you were planning on going but anytime before Thanksgiving is considered high season. The traffic on the roads going up to Tremblant from Montreal is crazy! Its the "Festival des Couleurs", and the leaves are absolutely beautiful. After Thanksgiving it calms down and everything turns grey/brown as everyone waits for the snow to arrive.
There are tons of things to do anytime in October: golf courses remain open until its too cold (end of October I would guess), a nice hike up the mountain (many different trails and levels to choose from), or a gondola ride up to the top or over to the Versant Soleil and the new casino. Horseback riding is another idea. La Source is an indoor pool at the mountain with an outdoor hot tub which is always nice on a cool day. Rent a bike and go out on the multi functional trail, go for a tour of the lake on the Grand Manitou, get a massage at the Fairmont or DEFINTEY go to The Scandinave www.scandinave.com ...open year round, its one of those hot/cold spas that is popular now. You can get a massage there too. Its wonderful, beautiful and a great way to spend 3-4hrs.
Also lots of great places to eat both at the mountain and in Mont Tremblant or St Jovite village. My favorites are the Z bar & Grill in St Jovite and Creperie Catherine (crepes yum!) and LA Savoie (fondue and raclette...perfect for a cold October night).
Thanks for the suggestions, they all sound amazing! We are looking forward to our trip, any other recommendations for hotels at Tremblant, one poster mentioned Residence Inn, anyone else stay there? Or would you recommend a different hotel?
I've been to Tremblant during the off season and there was still plenty to do. Some restaurants had limited hours but most things were open. I think this was sometime during November...after the summer season and before the skiing season. We mainly hiked, shopped, and swam. It a really relaxing and romantic weekend.
We've stayed at the Westin and Fairmont...I'm actually staying at the Fairmont with my family this weekend. The Westin has a more modern and trendy look while the fairmont has more of a rustic theme.
