We will be flying out of Buffalo to LAX but Dh is booked one airline (airtran) and my dd's and I are flying with (SW). We had some extra AirTran credits that covered the cost of DH's flight but found better much deals for the 3 of us on SW (our return flights are all on the same airline). We managed to have flights that leave and arrive within an hour of each other (Dh's leaves first). Now my question is will I need a letter to say that is ok for me to fly with the girls without dh. I travelled to without DH last summer and we had our lawyer draw up a letter saying I had permission to take them out of the country and I remember showing it at the border (and I think even at airport security) but not to go on the plane. So I am wondering if I still need such a letter as we will be crossing the border and going through security check at the same time? Does anyone know?
