I have never been to Cedar Point and will be going with my daughter and 55 of her friends for their Senior class trip on Tuesday. I usually have my touring plan for WDW ready months in advance and it just hit me today that I DO NOT HAVE A PLAN! Does anyone have any suggestions for me? I think we get to enter the park an hour earlier than posted times because of the hotel we are staying in. Thanks!

Definitely take advantage of the extra hour in the morning. Get there at least 30 min before you can enter the park. Decide which of the big rides you want to go for first. I would highly recommend going to Top Thrill Dragster first if that is on your must-do list as the lines for that are usually the worts during the day. After that (or if it isn't open) I would head for Millennium Force and then Maverick. Base the direction you head from Maverick based on what you want to ride next.

The lines at Cedar Point do get crazy long as the day goes on. Make sure to try and get the big coasters in first and then focus on some of the other rides (Windseeker, Magnum, etc.) later. The lines for those will be long but the lines for rides like Top Thrill and Millennium will easily be 2 hr+ as the days goes on.

Here is a link to the map page http://www.cedarpoint.com/plan-a-visit/park-map I would definitely suggest that you download the pdf version and get acquainted with it. Figure out what are your top 3 rides and hit those first.

Have fun :)

I agree with the above. Also, it does look like maybe you're staying for more than one day? Last time we went, we got there first thing, rode all the biggest rides, then mid-day, about 3 or 4, we went back to our hotel, had dinner, took a little nap, then returned about 6; a lot of the crowd had thinned, it had cooled off a bit, we rode all the biggest rides again and stayed til the park closed.

Look online at the Cedar Point website: http://www.cedarpoint.com/plan-a-visit/park-map

You might find some good ideas, get an idea of what rides are closest, that kind of thing.

I miss Cedar Point! I think it's the only thing I miss about leaving Michigan.

Cedar Point isn't nearly as complicated as WDW. The 3 biggest lines will be for Top Thrill Dragster, Maverick and Millennium. The other coasters are older now and tend to have pretty decent lines, especially during the week.

Magnum, Mantis and Raptor will be the next big rides to go for. You can add Power Tower, Gemini, Blue Streak and Mean Streak if you desire about any time. Those are usually never longer than 15-20 minutes.

Word of warning for the Mean Streak, only consider if you like extreme pain. LOL It's long and it's ROUGH! Gemini is often walk on since it's 2 trains running at the same time. And Power Tower has 4 "cars" loading each time. It goes pretty quickly too since it's a short ride.

Usually our plan is to start at the back of the park and work forward since most people get on the rides as they walk in taking what's closer. If you want to do some of the "get wet" rides back in frontier land know that some of them have earlier closings than the park closing. Last year we didn't wander over there til after 7 and only Thunder Canyon was open. Oh....and you will get a little bit soaked. :thumbsup2

Gum! I learned this when I worked there, compeltely on accident. I rode one time with a big wad of hubba bubba type gum (I have no idea why, I gon't even like that stuff) and it make all the difference in the world-I think because I bit down on it (so I wouldn't swallow it) and it kept my teeth a little bit apart. Mean Streak is a great ride, but for me, used to make me feel like my teeth were going to fall out of my hea!

Obviously, if you are a roller coaster hands in the air screamer, don't bother with the gum :)

I agree with the PPs. Take advantage of the early entry, start in the back at Millennium Force. I don't think TTD is open for early hours. Take a break in the afternoon and head back later in the day.

When we went in October for Halloweekends TTD was open for early entry.
