OT ~ Tell me about Sedona, Arizona....Please

Sedona is at the top of my list for visiting this summer to use our SW credit.

I'm thinking 6 days....2 are travel days, 3 days to rest, sit by the pool, tour Sedona vortexes and shop alittle and one day to drive to the Grand Canyon.

We are on a budget....dh still not working.

Tell me about Sedona please.

Where are you planning on flying into? Sedona is a wonderful area to relax in..we had busy mornings (took the kids) and then relaxed the rest of the day.

The red rocks are amazing to see, the Vortex are a bit of a tourist trap (so we were told by the driver that picked us up to go horse back riding)

Slide Rock is a nice place to hike around and see (it almost looks fake, the colours are so amazing)

The drive to the Grand Canyon is a very long one and the drive back into Sedona from the north at night is not a nice one! We got into Sedona late at night and the speed limit is around 15 miles/hour because you are snaking down the mountain. Glad I did not know what we were driving on! Much nicer drive during the day!

Make sure you look for a place that offers breakfast (I had already suggested the Sedona Real Inn) and it does have a pool.

Sedona is a very relaxing atmosphere...go for it!

We'll be flying from Buffalo to Phoenix - 4.5 hours
Driving to Sedona same day - 2 hours

THEN RESTING

We are looking for a hotel/motel that offers breakky and has at least two beds with a cot or a suite. The days of kids sharing beds are over.

A pool is extremely important because it willbe 95F during the day.

After a couple days of resting by the pool we will drive to the Grand Canyon just for the day....mapquest it 2 hours.

Another day of rest and then home.

I'm going there too! In May--only for a day. We are spending a week in Scottsdale and making this a side trip.

We are going to be in Scottsdale for 4 days in May as well and Sedona for a night.
