I can't believe that this man who loved animals so much is gone! His enthusiasm to bring his love of the Animal Kingdom to us all was infectious.

He was killed by a stingray while filming in the Great Barrier Reef.

My husband woke me up this morning with the sad news. My daughter watched so much Crocodile Hunter that the Animal Planet symbol is perminently burned into our big screen tv. He inspired her to catch her first snake at 8 years of age...a 3 foot long water snake. Steve Irwin was a one of a kind inspiration to a whole new generation of conservationists. We had Marlin Perkins and Jaques Cousteau, our kids had Steve Irwin. Not many people have the opportunity to live their dreams or follow their passions however Steve Irwin did both. Our thoughts are with his family now as they remember a father, husband, friend and role model.

I have not been able to get Steve Irwin off of my mind today......so so sad. :guilty:
