Ok, this thread is too funny. I had the northstar sneakers, the Cougar boats, the leg warmers, even the Beaver Canoe/Roots sweatshirts but only cause we went to visit my grandparents in Toronto ( couldn't get that in NB in the 80's). Did the windshield thing, had no heat in the car thing, also used to skate on the roads cause they were full of ice & just about got killed for making tunnels in the ditch & the snowplow came.Went thru the pond cause we were convinced it was safe & almost froze walking back thru the woods to get home before our parents found out. One thing I do remember is leaving the crazy carpet on the deck so my dad could go out & step on it & slid across step screaming he was going to kill us(really, you think he would have learned after 3 or 4 times).You know, he hates crazy carpets to this day! You know, its a wonder we are alive today. Thanks for the laugh guys!
