OT: SLC Utah

My DS has been on the wait list at Carmen D. Pindgree school in SLC for over two years. They called yesterday and our wait is over. He is going August.

Is anyone here from SLC? Can anyone offer me suggestions on the relocation from my 43 acre ranch with creeks and quiet to the madness of the city?

I need to know where to shop for double coupon grocery stores, where is it "safe" to live by the U? What is there to do in SLC? And it would be nice to make a new friend.

Well, I grew up there but in a different part of the valley. I'm totally jealous that you get to move there, though. I've been trying to get DH to move for 7½ years! Louisiana is just not home.
