Hey everyone, we're from Canada and are thinking about heading to Port Huron on Monday or Friday after Black Friday. Which day is better? We don't want to go on Black friday cause the border is just crazy. Is there anything left on Monday(29th), or would it be better to wait till Friday (Dec 3). Are the stores even open on Monday?

I don't know which day would be better, probably any of them aside from avoiding Friday (although most of the craziness is over by mid-afternoon). All stores should be open Monday. Its a normal business day in the US. Also, since Monday is a normal work day, I would imagine traffic to be much better on Monday after 9am. Pine Grove can really get messy on the weekends (and just about any other day, but go while everyone is at work). Are you from the Sarnia area and familiar with Port Huron? Or traveling from a further location?

thanks for the info. We are from the London area, where is pine grove? What stores do they have there.

Pine Grove is the main road that runs through Port Huron and into Fort Gratiot. This is the road you'll want to take once you get off the bridge. You'll want to head North into the Fort Gratiot area. Sadly, there is little shopping left in downtown Port Huron. Most of the big box stores have opened in the north end. Up there you'll find the Birchwood Mall and all of your standard big box stores. You may want to get your hands on a local newspaper this weekend so you can see where you want to go and what the deals are. Or you can check the websites of specific stores and look at their flyers online.
