Can any give me any ideas for hotels and thinkgs to see in Savannah. going for a couple of days in Septamber, along with our Disney trip.

I love Savannah. We took the old town trolley day tour (it's hop on hop off)

It was awesome. The waterfront is really nice. They Filmed Forest Gump there and the bus drivers point out a lot of things.

Do go to Mrs. Wilkes Boarding House for lunch (Open Lunch only) It's family style (you are seated with others at large tables) and they just bring out tons of southern food and you take what you want. Try it all. It was fabulous. The lines are out the door and down the street. I think we heard about it on Rachel Rae's $40 a day travel show. It's a must do.

We did not stay in Savannah but we were in nearby Hilton Head Island. Gorgeous BEACH. Loved the 3 days we spent in the area. Worth it and can't wait to go back.

LOVED Savannah! Be sure to do a Ghost walk..very eerie and cool. We stayed at Kehoe House..it was wonderful and they 'say' very haunted though we didn't see anyone!;)

Great restaurants...have fun!

We spent a few days in Savannah at the end of December. What a beautiful city!!!
We stayed at the Avia hotel - reasonable price for a very good quality hotel, great location as most of what we did we could walk to.
We did a hop-on hop-off bus tour (Olde Savannah Tours) - they came to the hotel to pick us up and we spent a few hours just enjoying the bus ride. The next day we went back (on foot) to the sites we wanted to see. They also did a ghost tour - very cool! My husband booked it and paid for dinner/tour package - we weren't as impressed with the meal. The tour operator was hilarious!
Went to the Lady & Sons for dinner (it was a block away) and a great little pizza place Vincent Van Gogos.
Enjoy the trip! We'll be going back to Savannah - we loved it!

Thank for some good ideas. We don't even know where to look for accomodations, there seems to be a good choice, but not sure what location we should be looking at, historic part, mid-town or airport locations. Wanting something that is easy to get around from.

WE LIKED THE OLD TOWN OF SAVANNAH. WE STAYED THERE ON OUR WAY TO DISNEY LAST YEAR. WE STAYED RIGHT DOWNTOWN RIGHT ACROSS FROM THE WAREHOUSE SHOPS. WE WERE WITHIN WALKING DISTANCE OF LADY AND SONS, ITS ALWAYS BUSY. YOU GO TO SIDE DOOR BOOK YOUR RESSIE. WE BOOKED OUR 8pm RESSIE AT 6pm. I THINK WE STAYED AT THE HAMPTON, THEY HAVE VALET PARKING UNDER HOTEL. I THINK 15 DOLLARS. WE WERE ONLY THERE FOR 1 NIGHT, SO WE WILL GO BACK TO SEE MORE.
