OT- Road Trip Rochester and Darien Lake

I read through an old thread of DL, and yes, it is still expensive even with their deals as you have to stay for 2 nights. So we were thinking of staying at a hotel and then visiting DL. Any recommendations for hotel in the area? I'm not much of a snob, but I like a clean place. There is one Clarion which has an indoor water park and it looks good, but I have never stayed at a Clarion before. Also, after DL (or before, does not matter) we are planning to go to the Strong Museum in Rochester. Anyone been there and can share anything with me?

Haven't been to Darien Lake in years but we have been 3 or 4 times to the Strong Museum and it is amazing. Clean, neat, gorgeous and so much fun. Definitely plan on most of a day for there, not just an hour or two on your way through.

We plan to stay overnight so we will have a full day at the museum. Any hotel that you would recommend?

Pick downtown Rochester as the area and then 3.5 stars. Insert your price.

There's only one 3.5 star hotel downtown and that is the Hyatt. Got it for $70 or $80 if I recall correctly. Good score in my opinion...

We recently stayed at the Homewood Suites and that was nice as well.

The Strong is great! We love going there with our kids. sorry i don't really know of any hotels to recommend in Rochester. For DL, I think Tops Markets offers discount tickets. Have a great trip!!
