OT: Questions about video IPODS

I am considering getting one for DS for xmas. When I go on itunes it appears movies, tv shows etc can only be downloaded from the US?

Does anyone know if there is anyway for Canadians to download such things? If not what do you use your video ipod for? Is it worth the purchase with limited downloads available?

Which model are you planning on purchasing?

Chances are he is quite familiar with file sharing and will not have any problems watching what he wants.

If you are withing Driving distance I suggest you visit one of Apple's Canadian retail stores.

Or one of Apple's US retail locations you can save up to $100 depending on the model purchased.

The staff at the Apple retail locations are great no sales pressure and they are very knowledgeable.

Don't forget to buy the Apple Care. Especially if you buy in the US.

He is only 11. I am thinking the 80 gig. Admittedly I don't know alot about them.

I have....dh is getting the nano for xmas. I just thought if ds was downloading movies etc he would need the larger memory. Of course if he can't download those things the extra memory would be useless to him!

We bought our dd11 a 4g Ipod Nano for Christmas. It is under 200 bucks. It holds approx 4 hours of video

I got a 30G video last year and I love it. To answer your original question, YES there's a way to download the video content from the US. You just need to buy an apple store gift card from the US. Put in a fake street address and the gift card when you sign up on the US site and then you can buy stuff from there.

I know that you can also buy gift certificates online that get emailed to you, I haven't tried that yet, but have had no problem with the cards. Just need to remember to pick one up when I'm in the States!
