You guys are great and I'm hoping you can answer this question. In preparing to do my taxes I noticed in TaxAct one of the questions being about my dependents "Was this child legally blind or total disabled during the year". My ds8 does receive SSDI and I would consider him disabled (mood disorder, mild retardation). I have never received a 1099 or any form from Social Security. Do I need to, or will it benefit me, to claim his SSDI on my taxes?
